Product Designer II
Microsoft
Microsoft Calendar – Time and Places is a core team within Microsoft 365, focused on redefining how people manage time, coordinate schedules, and connect across organizations. By deeply integrating AI through Microsoft Copilot, the team is transforming the calendar experience into a proactive, intelligent assistant that helps users plan smarter, reduce friction, and stay focused. Calendar Copilot features offer intelligent suggestions, meeting prep, follow-ups, and time protection—making scheduling not just easier, but more meaningful. As Microsoft continues to evolve the future of work, the Time and Places team plays a pivotal role in embedding AI into everyday routines, ensuring that time is spent with intention and impact. In essence, this team is not just building a calendar—they’re shaping the rhythm of modern work.
As a designer in the team, you will define specific product needs based on user insights to ideate and define solutions that meet user needs. You will create and develop design concepts and specifications that optimize the emotional and functional experience of a product. You will focus on end-to-end user experiences, empathizing and balancing experiences with business and technical tradeoffs. This opportunity will allow you accelerate your career growth, deepen your user-centered design, design leadership, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
As a Product Designer II, you bring curiosity, thoughtful questioning, and the ability to challenge assumptions while staying grounded in existing systems and patterns. You balance learning with contributing, proactively exploring new design possibilities while integrating them responsibly within the product ecosystem. With AI reshaping design practice, you are expected to move beyond basic adoption and actively influence how AI integrates into workflows—designing human-AI interactions that emphasize trust, transparency, and responsible use.
You will produce visual designs from concept through delivery and sustainment, support interaction designs for software-based experiences, and partner with internal development teams, product teams and design groups to research and analyze customer feedback for incorporation into product enhancements, new product designs and overall design language and strategy.
Microsoft’s mission is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more. As employees we come together with a growth mindset, innovate to empower others, and collaborate to realize our shared goals. Each day we build on our values of respect, integrity, and accountability to create a culture of inclusion where everyone can thrive at work and beyond.
