Overview

The Critical Environments Maintenance Management team is responsible for developing and implementing maintenance management programs that guide maintenance activities across the Microsoft datacenter critical environments. Our role is to ensure maintenance programs are fully implemented across all regional operations and are designed to enhance asset reliability, scale effectively, and streamline maintenance practices, while minimizing operational burden. In this role you will work in close partnership with field operations, partner teams, and stakeholders to ensure our programs are aligned with business priorities and adaptable to local operational needs.



Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • As Technical Program Manager (TPM) Critical Environments Maintenance you will support the development, implementation, and optimization of maintenance programs for datacenter infrastructure through creation of actionable maintenance frameworks that are simple and predictable in execution, measurable in their results, and effective in its purpose. Enabling reliability, efficiency, and confidence across all datacenter critical environments.
  • Align with Microsoft's culture, objectives, and Datacenter Operational policies.
  • Manage programs associated with the global datacenter critical environments operations.
  • Drive the continuous improvement of maintenance reporting processes, ensuring timely, accurate, and actionable insights from CMMS and other data sources. Collaborate with partner teams to validate data integrity, resolve reporting issues, and deliver reports that support decision-making, compliance, and operational excellence.
  • Collaborate with tooling teams and partnered resources to design, develop, and enhance maintenance reporting tools, ensuring solutions meet operational needs and deliver actionable insights for decision-making.

  • Ensure CMMS is leveraged for accurate work order management, asset tracking, preventive maintenance scheduling, and real-time reporting.
  • Drive data integrity, compliance, and continuous improvement in CMMS processes, collaborating with partner teams to resolve upstream/downstream data issues.
  • Collaborate with engineering, operations, and partner teams to align maintenance activities with business objectives.

  • Drive continuous improvement by optimizing maintenance intervals, reducing waste, and enhancing efficiency.

  • Identify and mitigate risks in maintenance execution, champion rapid response frameworks for unplanned failures.

  • Monitor and report on maintenance KPIs, asset health, and program effectiveness.

  • Support training and competency development for maintenance teams.



Qualifications

Required/Minimum qualifications:

  • Doctorate Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Reliability Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience OR Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Reliability Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience OR Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Reliability Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field AND 5+ years technical engineering experience OR 12+ years relevant technical engineering experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Doctorate Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Reliability Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience OR Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Reliability Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field AND 7+ years technical engineering experience OR Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Reliability Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field AND 9+ years technical engineering experience.

Background Check Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Reliability Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $158,400 - $258,000 per year.
