The CSCP organization is responsible for traditional supply chain functions such as plan, source, make, deliver, but also manages supportability (spares), sustainability, and decommissioning of datacenter assets worldwide. We deliver the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's over 200 online businesses including Bing, MSN, Office 365, Xbox Live, OneDrive and the Microsoft Azure platform for external customers. Microsoft Cloud Planning (MCP) is the central planning function within CSCP focused on forecasting, demand planning, and supply planning for all Microsoft Cloud services and associated hardware, directly impacting the success of Microsoft's cloud business.

Responsibilities
Project Intake, Prioritization, and Resource Alignment
- Integrate Data Science project intake and prioritization processes into enterprise governance.
- Ensure incoming requests are evaluated, sequenced, and resourced based on business priorities.
- Coordinate alignment across Business Operations, Transformation PM teams, and Data Science stakeholders.
• Business Requirements & Scoping
- Lead the initial assessment of new business inquiries by defining the problem, expected outcomes, success measures, and priority.
- Facilitate early discussions with Data Science partners to evaluate feasibility and clarify requirements needed for downstream planning and resourcing.
• Data Science Work Enablement & Platform Development
- Partner with Data Science, Engineering, Data Analytics, and Transformation PM teams to enhance systems, tooling, and data pipelines that support the end‑to‑end Data Science lifecycle, including data acquisition, experimentation, and model deployment.
• Process Optimization & Cross‑Functional Integration
- Evaluate and improve Data Science operating processes to ensure alignment with Business Operations workflows.
- Strengthen intake readiness, integration points, and responsiveness to evolving business needs.
• Executive & Stakeholder Communication
- Manage communication rhythms, including roadmap updates, progress reviews, risks, and impact summaries.
- Provide regular updates to leadership to ensure visibility, alignment, and informed decision‑making.
• Cross‑Functional Program Leadership
- Act as the connector between technical and business teams. Drive clarity, shared priorities, and execution alignment.
- Manage dependencies, risks, and deliverables across multiple workstreams.
• Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement
- Develop and refine governance models, metrics, and reporting mechanisms to monitor performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Support continuous enhancement of Data Science execution efficiency and throughput.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
Master's Degree in Business, Project Management, Supply Chain, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Engineering, or related field AND 4+ years experience in project management, operations, or engineering OR Bachelor's Degree in Business, Project Management, Supply Chain, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Engineering, or related field AND 6+ years experience in project management, operations, or engineering OR equivalent experience.
Other Requirements:
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to, the following specialized security screenings:
- Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred qualifications:
- 6+ years driving cross functional programs across Data Science, Engineering, and Business Operations.
- 6+ years leadership experience in Supply Chain • Experience collaborating closely with Data Science teams across the full model lifecycle, including problem framing, data acquisition, feature development, experimentation, and production deployment.
- Familiarity with common Data Science workflows, tools, and environments (e.g., Python‐based experimentation, ML pipelines, notebook workflows, feature stores).
- Proven executive communication skills for roadmaps, business reviews, and risk/impact storytelling.
- Ability to work in an ambiguous and fast-moving environment

Technical Solution Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $116,900 - $203,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $148,400 - $222,600 per year.
