The Cloud Sourcing, Security and Sustainability (CS3) organization within CSCP oversees sourcing, strategy, and supplier management to deliver cost efficiency, flexibility, and supply advantages for Microsoft’s global supply chain. Effective sourcing and supply chain management ensure reliable performance, optimized costs, and timely information sharing across the supply base and infrastructure teams. CS3 prioritizes smart, efficient growth to consistently deliver high-quality products to customers and partners worldwide.

Responsibilities
- Supplier Relationship Management
- Supplier Relationship manager for selected SI, representing sourcing with senior account team, to ensure their adherence to MSFT requirements across functions.
- Prepare internal executive briefings to communicate with senior executive leaders in advance of supplier Executive reviews to help influence favorable business outcomes.
- Engage across product design, quality, engineering, and operations to determine sourcing requirements for system integrators.
- Establish and maintain business relationships with stakeholders within and outside of the Sourcing organization.
- Collect, synthesize, and communicate fact-based insights to drive strategic initiatives and decision making for executives.
- Long Term business planning and Source Selection
- Conduct capability assessments to develop and enable new suppliers.
- Allocate product business across SIs to optimize costs and ensure continuity of supply.
- Develop sourcing strategies to deliver optimized cost, production capacity, continuity of supply, and reduced FGI in support of product strategies.
- Commercial operations
- Engage with Supply Chain in various forums, and partner across organizations on actions and deliverables.
- Interface with demand/capacity planning, deployment, logistics, finance, data center operations and engineering to build processes & tools, drive optimization, garner supply chain efficiencies and improve delivery performance.
- Lead supplier readiness strategic initiatives across the SI supply chain to proactively ensure all certifications, licenses, and IOR/EOR requirements are met to ship globally without disruption.
- Demonstrate agility to resolve ad-hoc issues such as cost, tariffs, import / export compliance, and inventory consumption.
- Lead continuous improvement for commercial operations and sourcing processes.
- Cost Management
- Negotiate pricing to maintain supply chain competitiveness and identify cost reduction opportunities.
- Execute RFQ / RFP activities to drive incremental cost savings and meet fiscal year plan targets.
- Supplier performance and contract compliance
- Ensure suppliers contract compliance with MSFT requirements to include general terms and conditions, commercial operations.
- Conduct quarterly business reviews (QBRs) and ensure supplier’s compliance to MSFT requirements.
- Support CSCP teams to drive suppliers to exceed their operational and cost metric targets.
Qualifications
Required/Minimum Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Materials Science, or related field AND 3+ years experience in procurement, supply chain, sourcing, engineering, operations, or relevant sales-related roles OR Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Materials Science, or related field AND 4+ years experience in procurement, supply chain, sourcing, engineering, operations, or relevant sales-related roles OR equivalent experience.
Other Requirements:
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred Qualifications
- 10+ years’ experience in sourcing, supply chain management, planning and commercial operations.
- 4+ years Consulting background in Sourcing or Supply Chain.
- Excellent influencing skills with ability to build relationships across multiple layers in the organization.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills along with experienced storytelling abilities.
- Demonstrated critical thinking to solve complex challenges.
- Deep analytical capabilities and ability to synthesize data to influence leadership decision making.
- Extensive knowledge in hardware sourcing, supply chain and product development process.
- Strong track record and proven capabilities to lead cross functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to lead in ambiguous situations, and deal effectively with conflicting priorities and changes.
- Expertise with various business tools (e.g. word, excel, PBI, power point).

Sourcing Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $158,400 - $258,000 per year.
