  • The Japan Finance team partners closely with the sales & marketing teams to identify growth opportunities, accelerate revenue, optimize resources allocation, nurture a strong compliance culture, and deliver upon statutory & tax local requirements.
  • This is a very exciting role in the Japan Finance team. In this capacity, you lead the Japan Commercial Finance team, the group responsible for driving all key financial cycles (e.g. annual budget, quarterly forecast), generating actionable insights that drive revenue growth. This team plays across long- and short-term initiatives: It can be closely involved in designing 3Y growth plans as well as be “in the trenches” with the commercial to drive execution excellence.
  • You are also expected to work very closely with the Japan Leadership team. You do so by providing factual and data-driven insights that result in sound decision making and strong execution. Finally, the Japan Commercial Finance team is a key liaison with the Asia Leadership team, representing Japan in business reviews, providing insights on the area and advocating for support/ investments whenever applicable.

Responsibilities

People

• Attract and nurture a diverse, inclusive, and high performing team. You care about every individual as well as how the team work collectively with other groups.

Partnership

• Nurture strong collaboration with countries’ performance & execution. Provide actionable insights to country teams.

• Anticipate business needs. Provide insights and support decision making on resource allocation, productivity, and ROI to accelerate growth.

• In close partnership with SE&O, facilitate long range plans design and strong execution.

• Understand competitive market insights and support our business partners to timely act when appropriate.

• Drive profitable growth through area/digital win room engagement.

Prioritisation

• Chief Planning & Orchestration officer (Budget, Forecast, Closing).

• Oversee Area Financials all up, area consolidation intelligence, and area connection with Region/WW (e.g., APR)

• Lead Finance transformation (e.g., simplification, standardization)

• Strong Focus on forecast accuracy.

Protect

• Champion a culture of compliance and risk management across the Japan Commercial Finance team.

• Collaborate with Japan C&C Lead to embed compliance into the finance and business processes within the area.

• Anticipate risks and escalate when needed..



Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 8+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field.

• OR Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 10+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field.

• OR equivalent experience.

• 1+ year(s) experience managing direct reports.

Preferred Qualifications

• 15+ years of experience in finance position.

• Ability to operate and thrive in a fluid/uncertain environment.

• Ability to influence, establish credibility, trust, and partnership at all levels of the organization.

• Strong analytical skills and attention to details.
