Overview

As a Solution Engineer with Microsoft, you don’t just understand technology, you make it land.

You will have the opportunity to work with some of Microsoft’s largest customers in the region as you use your technical and industry knowledge to build credibility and relationships. You lead the technical win for core and adjacent technologies, and will be involved in technical discussions with enterprise customers as you set the rules of engagement.

You will also engage with partners, acting as the orchestrator as you connect the right people and tools, spot skills gaps early, and help build capacity so the solution sticks after go‑live.

This role will develop your technical breadth across cloud, data, and AI while building executive credibility as the person who can translate technical complexity into business outcomes.

Responsibilities

This is a customer facing role interacting with a number of stakeholders internally and externally. Some of your key responsibilities will include:

  • Working with account and marketing teams to shape strategic win and customer success plans and tailoring Microsoft messaging to audiences using knowledge of customer feedback, specific Microsoft solutions, and their context in a competitive landscape.
  • Capturing core competitive knowledge and delivering back to product and engineering teams to enhance team capabilities and develop compete strategies for assigned customers.
  • Providing strategic, technical, and partner input based on Microsoft capability at the account level to contribute to strategy development, leveraging partner, competitor, or open-source knowledge.
  • Monitoring and responding to internal tech community posts, attending community calls, sessions, hackathons, etc., and acting as a mentor for their technology area.
  • Demonstrating new and updated products to increase internal virtual teams' understanding of solutions and new opportunities.
  • Building a readiness plan and proactively identifies learning gaps. Growing domain knowledge and practice expertise by communicating with customers, partners, and senior colleagues to expand knowledge of architecture.
  • Supporting partner technical capacity by identifying skill and resource gaps and providing feedback to internal teams
  • Engaging in partner sell-with scenarios by acting as liaison between the partner and team and facilitating partner resources and processes throughout the course of the project.


Qualifications

Your ability to communicate deep technical concepts into simple terms with a commercial lens will be a key part of your success in this role. Some of the other knowledge, skills and abilities you will be able to demonstrate include:

  • Experience leading customer technical discussions and delivering architecture design sessions or proofs of concept (POCs)
  • A background acting as the technical liaison in partner sell‑with scenarios - identifying partner skill/resource gaps, facilitating partner processes and capturing competitive insights
  • Experience in technical pre-sales, technical consulting, or technology delivery, or related experience
  • Knowledge of cloud and hybrid, or on premises infrastructures, architecture designs, migrations, industry standards, and/or technology management.
  • proficiency in written, reading, and conversational English and Italian
  • Bachelors or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field or equivalent experience.
