The Strategic Planning team is a critical function in Devices Finance. We are chartered with driving business growth through assessing opportunity sets, defining & influencing product roadmaps to scale Copilot + PC’s, developing business & pricing models, and supporting partnership/deal initiatives. The team partners across several organizations – engineering, product marketing, business planning, business development, and supply chain.

We are looking for a for a Senior Finance Manager – Surface Planning with solid analytical and communication skills, business acumen and thought leadership to join the team working to portfolio strategy and success for Surface. You will have the opportunity to engage directly with the engineering teams building Surface as well as sales, marketing, and market intelligence.

Responsibilities
  • Be the product finance leader for a designated Surface product line.
  • Build robust financial models and decision support frameworks with key partners in engineering and marketing to optimize the profitability of the device’s portfolio & model opportunities for improvement.
  • Conduct financial analysis and statistical analysis to ensure business and financial success of new offerings from a unit, share, and profitability perspective.
  • Support key financial rhythms across a variety of stakeholders including: marketing, engineering, and finance leaders
  • Recognize and understand underlying business and market drivers and the competitive landscape across PC landscape
  • Present strategic options and analysis to senior level stakeholders
  • Partner with other Surface finance teams to ensure appropriate landing of new offerings in overall finance ROB (reporting, target setting, budgeting, etc.)
  • Partner as appropriate with other businesses and finance teams, e.g. Windows and Office, to develop enterprise-wide device and service offerings


Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 2+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field OR Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 4+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field OR equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Masters Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 6+ years of post-graduate financial analysis, accounting, controllership, or finance work experience OR Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 8+ years of post-graduate financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance work experience OR equivalent experience.
  • 1+ year(s) experience in multinationals with multi-product/multi-segment finance roles.
  • 1+ year(s) work experience in matrix-based organization.
  • 1+ year(s) work experience in the technology or software industry.


Financial Analysis IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $96,500 - $188,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $123,500 - $206,400 per year.
