We translate strategy into execution at scale to maximize business growth by delivering operational excellence, fostering alignment and driving enablement.
The Strategy & Design Lead role in EMEA Business & Sales Operations team plays a pivotal role by being responsible for transforming our business & sales operations processes to simplify, standardize, and scale execution across the region. The role blends transformational and strategical thinking, analytical rigor, program leadership, and sales operations expertise to ensure consistent execution of sales processes, tools, and processes across EMEA.
Working in close partnership with the Core, SE&O Leads, Field Activation Sales Operations Managers (SOMs), Sales Excellence, Finance, and HR, this role owns: (1) operationalizing business strategy to accelerate business outcomes at scale; (2) enabling aligned business execution at scale aligned to our commercial business strategy; and (3) paving the way for future innovation with AI and process automation.
As a people manager, it is critical that candidates role model Microsoft’s manager principles: Creating clarity, generating energy, and delivering success. This is one of the few roles in EMEA that looks across every sales process, segment, solution area, and OU in the region left to right. In addition to deep sales operations knowledge, strong candidates demonstrate curiosity, agility, transformational drive and strong communication skills. Influencing beyond one’s span of control, simplifying the complex, and translating strategy into impact on the ground are must-haves.
Responsibilities
Operationalizing Business Strategy
- Lead resource design (Blueprint, Segmentation, Territory Design, and CRA), resource management (EDM, Territory Assignment, and People Operations), quota, revenue excellence, and partner operations for EMEA.
- Partner with Core, Regional, and OU stakeholders in SE&O, BSO, Finance, HR, and Sales Excellence to land strategic initiatives at scale.
- Connect, integrate, and optimize processes to maximize impact across the region.
Enabling Business Execution at Scale
- Lead BI & analytics for EMEA, partnering with Sales Excellence, Finance, and GTM teams to provide business insight to improve execution.
- Own market intelligence for EMEA, partnering with SE&O leads, GTM teams, analyst relations, and segment teams to make our leaders smarter and maximize growth and win share versus our competitors.
- Drive enablement and adoption of standard tools, processes, and programs (including FastStart) to ensure that every leader, manager, and IC in EMEA can execute in line with our evolving business priorities.
Paving the Way for Future Innovation
- Lead, design, and drive adoption of AI services to improve business execution, reduce overhead, and improve outcomes for customers, partners, and field teams.
- Drive adoption, usage, and enablement of Global Sales Operation Center services to maximize scale, simplify processes, and improve standardization across OUs.
- Partner with Core, Regional, and OU stakeholders to prioritize, design, and land new capabilities in the field.
