The Sponsorship Account Director manages top strategic sponsor relationships across the Microsoft Flagship Event portfolio. This sales and marketing lead role drives profitable year-over year revenue growth, multi‑event 12-18 month planning, and high‑impact co‑marketing outcomes with named strategic partners by aligning the sponsor’s event strategy with Commercial Marketing and Enterprise (EPS) and Channel (GCPS) managed partner priorities. This director serves as a dedicated Microsoft relationship manager for a curated portfolio of Managed Sponsors - using consultative selling and joint marketing strategy to ensure excellence across event planning, integration, execution, and executive stakeholder management. This role is directly accountable for profitable revenue growth, target attainment, sponsor re‑sign rates, sponsor Return on Investment (ROI) performance, and driving a substantial percentage of the overall fiscal year event sponsorship revenue target.

Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary Microsoft point of contact for strategic Managed Sponsors. May include AI Silicon Device Partners, Global System Integrators (GSIs), Global Software Development Companies (GSDCs), Channel Partners, and Commercial Device Partners.
- Lead multi-event sponsorship planning, integrating Microsoft Ignite, Microsoft Build, the Microsoft AI Tour, and other flagship event moments into partner marketing strategies aligned with the Enterprise and Global Channel Partner Sales teams
- Collaborate with Partner Development Managers (PDMs) and Partner Marketing Mangers (PMMs) to embed sponsor's event investments into broader Microsoft and partner priority Go-to-Market motions
- Build and manage executive level relationships across sponsors, driving strategic alignment and long-term growth
- Manage and resolve sponsor escalations, partnering closely with Commercial Marketing and Enterprise Partner Sales (EPS) and Global Channel Partner Sales (GCPS) leadership
- Negotiate multi event deals that maximize sponsor value, elevate partner outcomes, and drive Microsoft impact
- Identify and develop high-Return on Investment (ROI) custom sponsor experiences, including new inventory concepts and innovation pilots
- Manage pipeline, forecast accuracy, and attainment performance across assigned accounts
- Deliver quarterly business reviews and executive readouts showing impact against Key Performance Indicator (KPIs)

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years experience partner account management, sponsorship sales, enterprise marketing, or strategic alliances
- OR equivelant experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Liberal Arts, Performing Arts, or related field AND 10+ years business to business, business to consumer, enterprise technology, digital, or experiential/event marketing experience in the technology industry
- OR equivalent experience
- 8+ years marketing experience in a large multinational organization or creative/media agency
- Experience in high-impact executive communication and escalation management
- Experience being responsible for quota attainment
- Experience driving complex cross-functional programs in large matrixed organizations
- Background in enterprise, small/media business, and start-up partner ecosystems
- Experience with co-marketing investment models (Market Development Funds, co-op), solution partner priorities, and/or global event execution
- Experience modeling sales targets, sponsor Return on Investment (ROI), and event performance scorecards and to deliver via Quarterly Business Updates
Events IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $130,900 - $251,900 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $165,600 - $272,300 per year.
