Microsoft’s Azure Data engineering team is leading the transformation of analytics in the world of data with products like databases, data integration, big data analytics, messaging & real-time analytics, and business intelligence. Within Azure Data, the databases team builds and maintains Microsoft's operational Database systems. We store and manage data in a structured way to enable multitude of applications across various industries. We are on a journey to enable developer friendly, mission-critical, AI enabled operational Databases across relational, non-relational and OSS offerings.
In this Product Manager role on the Azure Database for PostgreSQL team, you will operate as a forward deployed engineer, partnering directly with our largest Azure Database for PostgreSQL customers at the intersection of product strategy and customer impact. You will engage with technical and business stakeholders to unblock adoption challenges, and translate critical feedback into clear, prioritized requirements for our engineering team. This role requires a combination of deep database technical knowledge (preferably PostgreSQL), and a passion for customer success, with experience working directly with enterprise customers at technical and exec levels.

Responsibilities
- Partner with customers to understand business goals, workloads, and adoption challenges, bringing insights back to inform product direction.
- Convert customer feedback, usage patterns, and operational needs into prioritized product requirements that align with the Azure Database for PostgreSQL roadmap and platform strategy.
- Act as a customer advocate during feature definition and delivery to ensure customer scenarios are well understood and outcomes meet customer needs.
- Partner with customer account teams to support key engagements, providing product and engineering context and technical guidance to help accelerate adoption and success.
- Identify patterns and opportunities across customer engagements to help drive durable product improvements rather than one‑off solutions.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree AND 5+ years' experience in product/service/program management or software development or equivalent experience.
Other Requirements:
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check:
- This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred/Additional Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree AND 8+ years experience in product/service/program management or software development OR equivalent experience.
- Demonstrated experience working with customers building technical architecture and solutions. e.g., Cloud Solution Architect Role.
- In-depth knowledge of cloud database technology, preferably PostgreSQL.
- Experience coding, scripting and working with open-source technologies.

Product Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $158,400 - $258,000 per year.
