Overview

Microsoft’s mission is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more. Our success is grounded in a culture of respect, integrity, accountability, and a growth mindset—values that shape how we work, innovate, and collaborate every day.

Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) is the engine behind Microsoft’s cloud. We operate a global portfolio of more than 400 datacenters and millions of servers, supporting digital services for over one billion customers and twenty million businesses across more than ninety countries. This infrastructure is designed, operated, and continuously improved by teams of deep technical experts who safeguard reliability, trust, and scale.

IT Process and Standards (ITPS), a team within CO+I Core Datacenter Services (CDS), envisions a unified, automated approach to managing IT operations processes and standards across Microsoft’s global datacenter fleet. This ensures the ability to maintain and restore IT capacity efficiently and effectively to meet cloud service availability targets at scale. ITPS defines and evolves processes that underpin datacenter IT operations, including breakfix workflows, service transition, planning and scheduling, and IT service management orchestration. By equipping operations teams with the right tools and procedures, ITPS supports innovation and growth across offerings such as Azure AI, high-performance computing clusters, and mission-critical workloads.
