As a key member of our Critical Environment Support team, you will play a pivotal role in driving financial excellence, operational efficiency and a culture of collaboration across Data Center Operations. In this leadership position, you will oversee critical financial processes, partner with cross-functional teams and act as a trusted mentor and point of contact for both internal and external stakeholders. Responsibilities
Role Responsibilities
Lead Data Center financial operations, including forecasting, monthly accruals reporting, budget management, and full lifecycle of purchase orders and vendor finances.
Act as the primary point of contact for the team, using initiative to take ownership of queries, issues, and roadblocks; investigate, resolve where possible, and report outcomes and recommendations to the team manager.
Lead by example, acting as a trusted mentor and role model for the team, promoting respect, accountability, and a culture of collaboration and high performance.
Promote clear, timely information sharing across the team, escalating to the manager for guidance and decision-making when required.
Partner cross-functionally with procurement, legal, AP, engineering, safety, compliance, and regional teams to resolve financial, contract, and operational issues.
Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure clear expectations, transparency, service delivery, and operational excellence.
Lead key programs and projects, deliver on service and compliance standards, and drive continuous improvement through process optimization and the adoption of new technologies.
Support team development by onboarding new hires, sharing best practices, and fostering a collaborative, growth-oriented, learning-focused culture.
Promote safety, compliance, and Microsoft values, proactively addressing risks and supporting teams through evolving operational needs.
Qualifications
Required/Minimum Qualifications:
A degree in business management or equivalent work experience.
Demonstrated experience leading, mentoring or supervising a team in a business operations or critical environment setting.
Proven ability to manage multiple business programs simultaneously and meet deadlines.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work well with a variety of people, including external suppliers, internal technical teams and business partners
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Additional or Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience in an administrative support role or team leadership role within an operations setting.
Experience with financial management, sharing best practices and fostering a collaborative, growth-oriented culture.
Experience supporting team development, including coaching, performance feedback, or staff training.
Experience leading cross-functional projects or programs, especially those involving process improvement or change management.
Background Check Requirements:
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
- Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
