We are seeking a Principal Software Engineering Manager to lead the Ads Trust & Safety Platform team. This team builds the engineering platforms that power Trust & Safety end-to-end across Microsoft Ads:
- Web entity intelligence/fidelity for domains, websites, landing pages, and related graphs/signals
- Real-time and nearline decisioning + enforcement workflows
- Serving infrastructure that runs diverse model stacks (LLMs, SLMs, wide & deep, ensembles, classical models) integrated with feature computation and signal stores
- Human-in-the-loop and agentic workflows, with strong auditability and governance
- Measurement and observability to track quality, latency, cost, and enforcement stability

- Lead and grow the ATS Platform team: hire and develop managers/tech leads, set execution cadence, and raise engineering and operational standards.
- Own platform architecture and delivery across ingestion , signals/fidelity, inference/decisioning, enforcement
- Build web entity intelligence systems at scale: signal acquisition , resolution, relationship graphs, reputation scoring, provenance, and explainability artifacts.
- Evolve the model serving platform: inference + nearline/batch scoring on gamut of models
- Deliver tiered enforcement pipelines (fast-path gating + deeper checks for high-risk traffic) and integrate enforcement actions reliably with partner systems.
- Partner cross-functionally with Applied Science, PM, Policy, Privacy/Compliance, and partner engineering teams to align roadmaps and deliver end-to-end outcomes.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 15+ years of professional engineering experience (or equivalent).
- 8+ years leading senior engineers/tech leads .
- Proven delivery of web-scale distributed systems: high-QPS services, streaming/event processing, storage/caching, and reliability/performance engineering.
- Hands-on experience building serving/decision platforms with strict latency, throughput, and correctness constraints
- Experience in high-integrity domains requiring auditability, controls, and security/privacy-by-design
- Strong stakeholder leadership: driving clarity from ambiguity, aligning across teams, and executing with high-quality delivery discipline.
Preferred Qualifications
- Deep domain experience in Trust & Safety / Fraud / Abuse / Risk systems, including adversarial dynamics and enforcement feedback loops.
- Expertise in heterogeneous inference platforms
