Within CO&I, the Engineering Procurement & Construction (EPC) organization is responsible for delivering core datacenter infrastructure for Microsoft’s cloud business. The Strategic Engagement & Governance (SE&G) Team within EPC is seeking an individual to drive our third-party due diligence infrastructure within the CO+I datacenter business, focusing on third-party compliance, risk mitigation, outsourcing operational support, and AI/digital transformation initiatives. This position is pivotal in ensuring that strategic and preferred third parties meet all compliance requirements, leveraging advanced data analytics and AI-driven insights to enhance supplier monitoring and controls across a complex, global ecosystem.
As a Sr. Business Program Manager, you will accelerate our journey toward automated, data-driven, and AI-enhanced third-party risk management. This role will be instrumental in transforming our third-party vetting processes, leveraging advanced analytics and digital solutions to drive risk mitigation, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement.
You will partner with teams across CO+I, as well as other organizations within Microsoft including Business Operations, Corporate Procurement, Legal, Trade, and Third-Party Compliance Engineering to drive and incorporate best practices.
You should understand the criticality of compliance to Microsoft's success and will ideally have experience with third-party monitoring and controls management across large and complex organizations. You are organized, self-motivated, have strong attention to detail, and robust communication skills to help drive compliance in a fast-paced and ambiguous organization.
This role is based in Redmond, WA.
Responsibilities
Compliance Automation & AI Integration
- Design, implement, and optimize AI-powered solutions for third-party compliance monitoring and risk assessment.
- Automate corrective action tracking, and compliance reporting using digital platforms (e.g., Lumina, PowerBI, OneVet, Copilot).
- Collaborate with program managers and engineering teams to integrate AI and digital solutions into third-party vetting and onboarding processes.
Data Analytics & Reporting
- Develop and maintain dashboards and reports for third-party intelligence, and compliance metrics.
- Analyze large datasets to identify compliance trends, risks, and opportunities for process improvement.
- Present actionable insights and recommendations to leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
Digital Transformation Leadership
- Lead digital transformation initiatives within the SE&G team, driving adoption of new technologies and best practices.
- Champion change management, training, and communication plans to ensure successful implementation of digital solutions.
- Stay current on regulatory trends, digital strategies, and AI applications in third-party risk management infrastructure.
Continuous Improvement & Collaboration
- Identify process bottlenecks and recommend enhancements to improve efficiency and effectiveness (i.e., Six Sigma, PMP, ITIL, Agile, etc.).
- Collect voice of the customer to ensure programs meet the needs of the business and capture feedback for process improvements.
- Work closely with Corp Procurement, Compliance, Legal, Trade, and business operations teams to align digital initiatives with organizational goals.
- Support education on compliance requirements and digital tools campaigns.
Qualifications
Required/minimum qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Operations, Finance, or related field AND 6+ years experience in program management, process management, or process improvement
- OR equivalent experience.
Background Check Requirements:
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
- Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Additional or preferred qualifications
- Master's Degree in Business, Operations, Finance, or related field AND 8+ years experience in program management, process management, or process improvement
- OR Bachelor's Degree in Business, Operations, Finance, or related field AND 12+ years experience in program management, process management, or process improvement
- OR equivalent experience.
- Experience with AI/ML tools, business analytics platforms (e.g., PowerBI), and third-party management systems.
- 5+ years of project management, process improvement, communication management, and procure to pay management processes.
- Proven ability to translate business needs into technical solutions and drive change in a matrixed organization.

Business Program Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $116,900 - $203,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $148,400 - $222,600 per year.
