As a Critical Environment Technician in the Regional Operations Center, your mission is to be at the center of operations, ensuring the integrity and performance of our state-of-the-art datacenters. You will be the first point of contact for handling critical incidents and alarms, collaborating with local teams and leveraging advanced monitoring tools to restore services swiftly and efficiently. Your role is pivotal in incident management—you identify resolutions, provide updates, manage expectations, and facilitate the allocation of resources to resolve complex support escalations. By documenting issues and sharing feedback, you help prevent future incidents and continually improve customer support experiences. In this environment, you may be asked to go on business travel to support other metros periodically, 0-25% of the time and have the ability to work 12-hour shifts, including shift assignments during non-standard business hours that may include evening, nighttime, weekends and/or holidays



Responsibilities
Monitoring and Analysis:
  • You will monitor and analyze Critical Environment (CE) equipment using CE applications in Facility Planner.
Alarm Response:
  • You are responsible for acknowledging and triaging alarms generated by CE applications. You will notify the site teams by creating investigation requests and work orders as needed.
Incident Management:
  • You will acknowledge, and triage incidents generated by human interaction or telemetry notifications. You will provide status updates and facilitate resource allocation to support account managers.
Customer Resolution:
  • You will be the primary contact to understand and address issues, working to improve the experience for account-aligned customers. You will provide ongoing status updates to customers and internal stakeholders.
Collaboration:
  • You will engage with engineering and operations teams to identify the right resources for resolving customer issues. You will take ownership of escalated issues and manage incidents related to account-aligned customers.
Procedure Review:
  • You will review ROC procedures according to the required schedule or frequency.
Drills Participation:
  • You will participate in EOP/incident drills on a quarterly basis.
Working Conditions
  • Applies to but is not limited to US-based Data Center roles: Working for extended periods under elevated levels of ambient noise, heat, and light due to necessary equipment and ventilation systems.
  • As indicated, above, this role has a travel requirement of up to 25% which means you may be required to travel, from time to time, as part of this role.
  • As indicated above, have the ability to work 12-hour shifts, including shift assignments during non-standard business hours that may include evening, nighttime, weekends and/or holidays.


Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • 1+ year(s) mission critical services work/applied learning experience (e.g., high availability assembly/manufacturing/critical infrastructure environments such as data centers, oil and gas refineries, hospitals, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, or related fields) OR equivalent experience
Other Requirements:
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate's Degree or technical trade certification (e.g., military, trade school), or higher-equivalent education AND 2+ years mission-critical services experience (e.g., high-availability assembly/manufacturing/critical infrastructure environments such as data centers, oil and gas refineries, hospitals, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, or related fields) OR High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent AND 3+ years mission critical services experience (e.g., high-availability assembly/manufacturing/critical infrastructure environments such as data centers, oil and gas refineries, hospitals, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, or related fields) OR equivalent experience.


Critical Environment Ops ATR-C - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $26.92 - $47.60 per hour. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $37.98 - $52.79 per hour.
