We are seeking a Principal Product Manager to join the Copilot Product Team at Microsoft AI China. This role is at the intersection of AI, growth, and consumer experience—where you will drive strategies to accelerate adoption, increase engagement, and maximize user retention. You will lead high-impact growth initiatives, using data-driven experimentation, funnel optimization, and viral loops to drive Copilot’s expansion.

Starting January 26, 2026, Microsoft AI (MAI) employees who live within a 50- mile commute of a designated Microsoft office in the U.S. or 25-mile commute of a non-U.S., country-specific location are expected to work from the office at least four days per week. Responsibilities
  • Define and execute growth strategies to drive key business metrics, focusing on acquisition, engagement, and retention.
  • Stay ahead of AI and growth industry trends, identifying innovative tactics to drive Copilot’s market expansion.
  • Lead A/B testing, rapid experimentation, and data-driven decision-making to optimize conversion rates and user experience.
  • Identify and build scalable growth loops, including referral programs, social sharing, SEO/ASO optimization, and cross-platform integrations.
  • Develop and refine onboarding experiences to improve first-time user activation and reduce churn.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, design, marketing, and data science) to develop and implement high-impact growth features.
  • Leverage AI-driven personalization and recommendation models to enhance user engagement and long-term retention.
  • Optimize growth funnels using advanced analytics, ensuring a seamless user journey across mobile, web, and integrated ecosystems.
  • Monitor KPIs and identify areas for optimization, providing clear insights to leadership and making data-backed recommendations.


Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 8+ years experience in product/service/program management or software development
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in product management, with a strong focus on AI, growth, user acquisition, or engagement optimization.
  • Proven track record in scaling consumer products, driving significant user and revenue growth.
  • Solid expertise in growth frameworks, including AARRR (Acquisition, Activation, Retention, Referral, Revenue) and growth loops.
  • Hands-on experience with A/B testing, experimentation platforms (e.g., Optimizely, LaunchDarkly), and funnel optimization.
  • Deep proficiency in data-driven decision-making, with experience in SQL, Amplitude, Mixpanel, Google Analytics, or similar analytics tools.
  • Solid understanding of SEO, ASO, performance marketing, and viral growth strategies.
  • Experience working on AI-powered consumer products, particularly in personalization and user engagement.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to drive alignment across executives and cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Rich experience in mobile and web growth strategies, including iOS/Android app optimization.
  • Experience in monetization strategies, including freemium models, subscriptions, and paywalls.
  • Prior experience leading growth product teams or mentoring junior product managers.
  • Familiarity with machine learning-driven growth tactics, such as recommendation systems and churn prediction models.
  • Passion for defining and analyzing growth experiments and behavioral analytics.
