Responsibilities

Solution Engineer

Overview: As a Solution Engineering Intern, you will engage with customers to understand their business needs and support them in exploring Microsoft technologies. You will shadow experienced engineers in customer discussions, research customer scenarios, and build foundational product expertise.

Responsibilities:

1. Build Strategy:
Builds awareness of need for product strategy based on customer feedback and compete strategies.
Delivers Microsoft standard messaging and seeks to tailor messaging to audience.
2. Education
Starts learning path, consumes and leverages readiness materials to expand domain knowledge, and begins connecting with customers.
Promotes readiness to internal teams.
Participates in tech community sessions, hackathons, etc.
3.Leverage Partner Ecosystem
Builds awareness of partners.
4.Scale Customer Engagements
Engages with and reaches out to customers with coaching from others.
Shadows others in customer stakeholder interactions and researches customer context to gain understanding and build product expertise.
Contributes to technical wins or portions of technical wins with support from peers through preparation and delivery of one-way presentations. Improves customer interactions through feedback and observation.
Begins to develop awareness of available resources by familiarizing themselves with the community and engaging others to gain product knowledge.
5. Solution Design and Proof
Develops foundational awareness of working with reference architectures.
Assists in demonstrations of specific Microsoft products through preparation and execution. Leverages senior colleagues to ensure quality.

Qualifications
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree prefelably in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business or related field
    • Must have at least 1 semester/term remaining following the completion of the internship
  • Technical consulting, technical consultative selling, product development, or related technical/sales experience is a plus
  • Passion for technology and working with customers
  • Strong balance of both business and technical skills
  • Exceptional negotiation, customer service, and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, analytical and presentation skills
