Senior Product Manager (Foundry Observability)

Microsoft Foundry Observability provides end-to-end visibility, evaluation, and monitoring for AI applications and agents—from early prototyping to production. Our team develops the platform that powers evaluation driven development, tracing for debugging, real time monitoring, quality measurements and optimization for AI systems.
As a Senior Product Manager, you will drive the strategy, experience, and execution of key observability capabilities that help developers and enterprises build high quality, safe, efficient, and trustworthy AI applications. This is a high visibility technical role in which you will work across Foundry portal and code first experiences, partnering with teams across the company to develop a world class product. You’ll also collaborate closely with engineering, design, and customers to shape the next generation of agent centric observability capabilities that developers rely on to build and operate their production AI systems.
Responsibilities
Define and evolve the vision and strategy for AI observability with a focus on monitoring and actionable insights.
Lead end to end product specifications for both portal UX and codefirst experiences.
Partner with engineering to define the product roadmap.
Drive crossfunctional execution with engineering, marketing, design, and partner teams, delivering enterprisegrade capabilities.
Manage dependencies across the Observability portfolio including engaging closely with the Agents Service, Azure Monitor and other teams across the company.
Engage directly with customers and partners to gather requirements, validate solutions, and refine product direction.
Use customer signal, telemetry, and research insights to prioritize work and refine requirements.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree AND 5+ years experience in product/service/program management or software development OR equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
AI Fluency: Understanding of LLMs, agentic systems, evaluation methods, observability concepts (e.g., tracing, monitoring, model metrics), and safety principles. Experience building or evaluating LLM based applications, agents, or RAG systems.
Product Sense: Demonstrated ability to define enduser experience and product direction across complex technical domains.
Execution Excellence: Proven track record delivering highimpact, enterprisegrade features in crossfunctional environments with multiple dependencies.
Technical Depth: Ability to work closely with engineers on APIs, telemetry pipelines, evaluation systems, and integration patterns.
Product Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $158,400 - $258,000 per year.
