Software Engineer II (Front-End)

We are Bizchat Experiences (BCX) Team and are the primary team responsible for all Copilot UX in all Canvases. This unique space challenges us to innovate and find new ways to meet the expectations of consumers, while respecting the compliance needs of enterprise. Together, we build engaging and modern experiences for information workers and Enterprise Admins interfacing with REST APIs from our unified Copilot backend platform. To help us achieve our goals and partner with stakeholders in design, research, PM, and data science to influence the future of search in the enterprise, we seek an experienced full stack developer.
You will have the opportunity to collaborate with teams across Microsoft and the world to develop innovative Copilot Experiences for the Enterprises. In the big picture, you will contribute to components integrated in Bizchat across the Microsoft365 ecosystem, including Harmony, Edge, WXP Apps, Teams, Outlook and more. Responsibilities
- Build engaging and modern experiences for information workers and Enterprise Admins using TypeScript, React and Redux coded against REST APIs.
- Build highly scalable and fault tolerant services that are highly performant in the Microsoft Search connectors and federation search extensibility areas.
- Constantly improve our live site with monitoring and automation.
- Build accessible experiences sensitive to the needs of all users.
- Modularize components for use across Microsoft 365.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
- OR equivalent experience.
- 4+ years of experience building scalable services.
- Experience coding in Java or C#.
- 1+ years of client-side web development experience in TypeScript, JavaScript, React/Redux or similar technologies.
- Experience developing in HTML/CSS3+ years of professional software engineering experience.
Other Requirements:
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
- Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 3+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
- OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 5+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
- OR equivalent experience.
- Performance and profiling of in-browser code.
- Developing against a REST API. Telemetry and Experimentation.
- Test Automation.
