Within Fabric, the Real-Time Intelligence team is building the endtoend platform that powers eventdriven, timesensitive applications. We’re Azure Messaging – a rapidly growing group of around 40 engineers – and we’re experts at moving hundreds of millions of small packets of information into and out of the cloud, per second. We work on the cutting edge of distributed messaging systems, where milliseconds latency, massive throughput and 99.99% service availability aren’t tradeoffs – they’re all necessary. Our infrastructure needs to be resilient enough for financial transactions, rapid enough for streaming and gaming applications, and still nimble enough to move many petabytes of data per day.
We build the Azure Service Bus (http://aka.ms/servicebus), Azure Event Hub (http://aka.ms/eventhub), Azure Event Grid (http://aka.ms/azureeventgrid) and Fabric RTI Eventstreams (http://aka.ms/eventstream) services, which help power Microsoft SaaS applications like Office 365, Xbox Live, Halo, Application Insights (and many, many more), as well as thousands of external Microsoft customers. We’re looking for a creative, dedicated UX engineer II to help us build our next set of customer-facing web experiences. You will be instrumental in prototyping and building a new UX platform through which customers would interface with the vast ocean of streaming data. Your work would address high-profile customer pain points and form a core piece of our UX plane.

Responsibilities
Developing highly polished components and experiences.
Efficient prototyping of UX designs, working both with and without designers.
Consistently iterating on previous designs based on end user and stakeholder feedback.
Using data to determine compelling improvements to existing experiences for delighting users.
Experimenting and developing wireframe proposals for new features or products.
Qualifications
Required/Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
- OR equivalent experience
- 1+ year professional experience working with Fabric, Databricks, Snowflake or data platforms within Azure, GCP or AWS
Job Requirements: Other & Additional
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check:
This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred/Additional Qualifications
Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 3+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 5+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
OR equivalent experience.
Mastery of core front-end technologies, including modern JS frameworks (such as Typescript, React or Next.js) and SCSS/CSS
Experience using RESTful APIs and/or GraphQL to communicate with services
Strong attention to detail, with the ability to match specifications and wireframes in code with high fidelity
Proven track record of delivering ambitious projects
Experience with design processes (sprints, crits, iteratives etc)
Fluent in current design tools (Figma, Adobe CC etc.)
Strong inclination for architecting and designing at scale
Comfortable and enthusiastic about working in a complex product space with ambiguous challenges
Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication skills that drive compelling conversations and clear presentations

Software Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across Canada is CAD $85,000 - CAD $166,800 per year.
