We are looking for a Senior Product Manager with knowledge in the identity and cybersecurity space with great communication skills, to join our exciting and diverse team. You will revel in delivering identity and security driven products and services to enterprises around the world, to make the world a more secure and productive place.
This role is a Customer Acceleration Team (CAT) Product Manager, focused on accelerating adoption, shaping early product direction through customer engagement, and acting as the connective tissue between customers, field, and engineering.
Based in Japan as a member of the Microsoft Entra Customer Experience Engineering (CxE) team the successful candidate, will work closely with the Identity and Network Access engineering product development team and will engage with customers to accelerate the adoption of Microsoft’s Identity solutions.
You will also engage with Microsoft technical sales, partners, and cross-product security teams across the Entra product set and operate in the incubation space, focusing on new and emerging products and features, ensuring customer success and adoption in the early stages. This is a rare chance to shape the development of new Microsoft Entra products and strategic investments in a well-established organization.
Responsibilities
To be successful in this role, you need to have technical depth and skills to be able to earn and execute the privilege of being a trusted advisor to both IT and Business owners across the breadth of our customers. You should be prepared to address complex technical issues faced by customers in a thorough and effective manner. You should enjoy presenting our latest product innovations and offering guidance on identity strategy and investments to leaders among our customers and partners.
Builds trust with a targeted selection of customers. Orchestrates a line of communication with complex and advanced customers to capture feedback and insights through the product development lifecycle.
Use customer insights, research and data to develop thought leadership collateral and influence appropriate product groups to plan, build and deliver solutions that meet these customer needs and market opportunities. Navigate and create accountability and clarity with Product/Engineering teams.
Collaborate on plans to incubate features and solutions, collaborating with product groups, marketing, sales teams and other stakeholders.
Foster a team culture of diversity and inclusion that respects diverse experiences and backgrounds to shape our perspectives on customer and product. This includes understanding, embodying, and advocating Microsoft’s D&I values across the team.

Qualifications
Required/Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in computer science (or related field) or equivalent experience
3+ years of work experience designing, architecting and/or implementing Identity or cybersecurity-based solutions
GIAC GSEC/GCIH, ISC2 SSCP, CISSP, CompTIA Security+ or equivalent experience.
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with all levels of an organization, from senior executives to others, and across all functions, from business to technical, and across multiple geographies
Strong technical skills with potential to go deep on Microsoft Entra Technologies and Microsoft Security Solutions
Technical curiosity and aptitude to quickly master service capabilities, technical issues, business trends, and customer needs
Strong customer satisfaction track record in customer facing role
Strong collaboration, technical program management, consultative and relationship management skills for effective relationships and making change happen
Demonstrating critical thinking and solid troubleshooting abilities
Capability to communicate and work in English and Japanese.
Other Requirements:
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
The role has a requirement for regular travel (up to 25%)
Familiarity with AI/LLM technologies, frameworks and agentic AI.
Familiarity with HTTP/S, IPSEC, GRE Proxy, SSL, and SSL Inspection (e.g. Break & Inspect).
Versatile with using various operating systems including Windows, Mac, and/or GNU/Linux.
