We are searching for a Senior Business Planner to join our team!
The Senior Business Planner role sits within Azure Global Growth & Revenue Optimization (GGRO) in Cloud and AI Platforms Monetization (CAPM). CAPM is a centralized team that defines pricing, packaging, and monetization strategies to drive durable, profitable growth across Azure.
In this role, you will shape how Azure regions are priced, launched, and optimized by balancing customer demand, supply dynamics, market signals, and long-term investment returns. The scope is intentionally two-fold:
- Set regional monetization strategy, including pricing and yield management, and define regional interactions.
- Scale execution by building repeatable processes, decision tools, and launch mechanisms across portfolios.
You will partner with data science, engineering, finance, operations, and regional launch leaders to turn insights into scalable, measurable business impact.
Responsibilities
- Strategy & Planning: Define regional monetization strategy aligned to Azure and Microsoft priorities; translate strategy into a prioritized roadmap and measurable outcomes.
- Yield Management: Partner with data science and economists teams to build yield management frameworks that use demand signals and supply dynamics to guide monetization decisions.
- Pricing, Packaging & Offers: Design pricing models, SKUs, and offers that support profitable growth and improve the customer buying experience across regions.
- Operational Excellence: Identify gaps and bottlenecks in regional pricing and launch workflows; drive improvements through process redesign, automation, and clear operating mechanisms.
- Cross-Functional Execution: Align engineering, finance, product, sales, and operations to deliver end-to-end launches and ongoing optimization across portfolios and geographies.
- Insights & Improvement: Track performance, surface actionable insights, and convert learnings into iterative strategy and execution changes.
- Culture & Collaboration: Model CAPM values through transparency, inclusion, and accountability; influence outcomes in a highly matrixed environment.

Qualifications
Required/minimum qualifications
- 5+ years product management, strategy consulting, finance, business/corporate development, or related experience OR equivalent experience.
Additional or preferred qualifications
- 8+ years product management, strategy consulting, finance, business/corporate development, or related experience AND Bachelor's Degree in Engineering/Computer Science, Economics, Business, or related field
- OR 6+ years product management, strategy consulting, finance, business/corporate development, or related experience AND Master's Degree in Business Administration (MBA), or related field
- OR equivalent experience.
- Comprehensive analytical skills with the ability to synthesize complex data into clear insights and recommendations.
- Proven ability to partner with technical, operational, and business stakeholders.
- Experience taking strategies and offers from concept to launch, including defining success metrics and measuring outcomes.
- Demonstrated leadership improving processes, building tools, and scaling execution across complex workflows.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills; experience influencing senior leaders.
- Comfortable operating in ambiguous, dynamic environments.
- Experience building business cases, financial models, and scenario analyses for strategic and investment decisions.
- Experience designing or operationalizing pricing, packaging, or monetization frameworks in technology or cloud businesses.
Business Planning IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $106,400 - $203,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $137,600 - $222,600 per year.
