Microsoft Cloud Operations and Innovation (CO&I) is the team behind the cloud. Within CO&I, the Engineering Procurement & Construction (EPC) organization is responsible for delivering core datacenter infrastructure for Microsoft’s cloud business. The MS portfolio consists of complex, multi-disciplinary, large scale, multi-year datacenter construction and lease projects. This role is located in Phoenix, AZ. Relocation support will not be provided, and successful candidates must relocate or reside within 50 miles of the hub office location.
Responsibilities
- Drive cross‑functional project delivery and change management by partnering with CO+I and key Microsoft stakeholders to implement new processes that improve cost, cycle time, and operational efficiency.
- Lead coordination and governance across projects, including owner/architect/contractor meetings, vendor engagement, and advocacy for a security‑first, safety‑first mindset throughout planning and execution.
- Manage end‑to‑end project execution for data center construction and integration initiatives, ensuring alignment to scope, schedule, cost, quality, safety, and security priorities.
- Apply strong financial and technical acumen to identify cost‑effective solutions, evaluate risks, review designs, and support data‑driven decision‑making for senior leaders and project teams.
- Track performance and mitigate risk by reporting on KPIs, budgets, invoices, and progress, while developing dashboards, metrics, and mitigation plans to drive accountability.
- Oversee resource and vendor management, including resourcing needs, RFPs, compliance, contractor performance, audits, and adherence to regulatory, safety, and security standards.

- Bachelor's Degree in Construction Project Management, Architecture, Engineering, or related field AND 3+ years related experience OR equivalent experience.
Other Requirements
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Construction Project Management, Architecture, Engineering, or related field AND 6+ years related experience OR equivalent experience.
- 5+ years experience working on data center projects.

Construction Project Management IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $76,800 - $151,900 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $100,800 - $168,000 per year.
