Overview

We are looking for top Finance talent to join our Commercial Product Infra and Margins (CPIM) Team to build out end-to-end Microsoft Cloud and AI Infrastructure, drive down unit cost of capacity and ensure Microsoft’s AI and Cloud services achieve both revenue and gross margin growth. As a crucial member of the team, you’ll also support long-term bets and drive competitive intelligence to keep Microsoft Cloud ahead of competition. All while enhancing transparency into Cloud Infrastructure investments, safeguarding shareholder interest.

Responsibilities

The Finance Manager will be a critical part of the Cloud Gross Margin team supporting the Healthcare & Life Sciences business. Healthcare represents a high‑growth, AI‑intensive vertical for Microsoft where Copilot drives both near‑term productivity ROI for customers and long‑term expansion of cloud and AI monetization across the Microsoft ecosystem. In this role, you will be a key strategic partner to the business by developing critical driver based models that enable our Healthcare products to scale to meet customer demand while still achieving overall efficiency targets.

We are looking for an initiative-taking individual who has curiosity to learn the business and wants to make impact through strong partnership with key stakeholders, continuous process improvements, and driving business insight.

This role is a wonderful opportunity to:

  • Own the non-GPU internal Azure COGS spend across the Healthcare portfolio. This includes building a deep partnership with engineering to understand underlying business trends that drive costs, helping identify and drive efficiency commitments, and projecting spend by products and services for forecasts and planning cycles
  • Support month end close activities including:
    • Owning end-end P+L reporting including providing insightful variance analysis and recommendations for improving future forecast accuracy
    • Submitting updates to critical allocations rules and interfacing with accounting on any necessary journal entries
  • Lead Product Pnl reporting and forecasting to enable deeper insights into profitability of key strategic products within the Healthcare portfolio
  • Apply continuous improvement mindset to all tasks and lead efforts to streamline processes, increase accuracy, and create better linkage of spend to underlying drivers
  • Undertake ad-hoc projects to the support the strategic mission of the Healthcare business and the CPIM organization
  • Collaborate with Finance teams across CPI to maintain accuracy of Product P+Ls and share learnings across teams
  • Be a SME for key systems and tools including (Internal Azure Cube, Alfred, Mercury, PBI) to support team ROB processes


Qualifications

Required Qualifications;

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 4+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field
    • OR Master's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 2+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field
    • OR equivalent experience
  • Established leadership skills with strong analytical modelling and strategic thinking

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proven data and financial modeling capabilities and ability to work with financial systems
  • Ability to communicate complex analysis in a straightforward way. Executive level oral and written communication skills

  • Initiative-taker driving best-in-class decision support in ambiguous environments
  • Strong collaboration capabilities, with ability to influence others without direct authority and appropriately push back as required
  • Comfort working at multiple altitudes, from strategic/high-level projects to detailed COGS analysis
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines, quickly prioritize impact and the resourcefulness to deliver
