As a Data Solution Engineer (SE), you are the technical expert responsible for engaging with customers to design, validate, and deliver data platform and analytics solutions on Microsoft Azure and Fabric. You work closely with account teams and specialists to influence technical decisions and drive business outcomes through hands-on engagements.

You act as a trusted technical advisor to customers—connecting deep technical expertise with business value and enabling customers to modernize their data estate and innovate with AI



Responsibilities

Customer Engagement & Advisory

  • Build strong relationships with customer technical stakeholders (architects, engineers, decision-makers)

  • Understand business objectives and translate them into technical requirements

  • Provide guidance on modern data platform strategies and best practices

Solution Design & Architecture

  • Design scalable, secure, and high-performance architectures using:

  • Azure Data Services (SQL, Synapse, Fabric, Databricks)

  • Data warehousing and analytics solutions

  • Lead architecture discussions and whiteboarding sessions

  • Align solutions to customer business outcomes and cloud best practices

Hands-on Technical Execution

  • Deliver high-impact engagements such as:

  • Proof of Concepts (POCs) and pilots

  • Technical demos and prototypes

  • Architecture Design Sessions

  • Validate solution feasibility and demonstrate value in real-world scenarios

Drive Technical Wins

  • Influence and support customers in making technical decisions in favor of Azure

  • Collaborate with account teams to:

  • Accelerate deal progression

  • Identify expansion opportunities

  • Contribute to pipeline growth through strong technical engagement

Collaboration & Orchestration

  • Work within a cross-functional team including:

  • Solution Engineers (Infra, Apps)

  • Specialists and Sales teams

  • Customer Success and Partner teams

  • Ensure seamless transition from pre-sales to deployment and adoption



Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)

  • 10+ years of strong experience in data and analytics technologies, such as:

  • SQL, data warehousing, and ETL/ELT pipelines

  • Experience with cloud platforms (preferably Microsoft Azure)

  • Customer-facing experience (pre-sales, consulting, or architecture roles)

  • Strong communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with:

  • Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, Azure Synapse, or Databricks or similar products

  • Data governance, security, and compliance

  • AI and advanced analytics workloads

  • Experience delivering POCs, workshops, or technical design sessions

  • Industry domain knowledge (e.g., Financial Services, Manufacturing, Retail)

Success Measures

  • Impact on customer technical decisions and Azure adoption

  • Execution of hands-on engagements (POCs, demos, workshops)

  • Contribution to pipeline growth and opportunity conversion

  • Delivery of high-quality, customer-centric solutions
