Senior Product Manager

Security represents the most critical priorities for our customers in a world awash in digital threats, regulatory scrutiny, and estate complexity. Microsoft Security aspires to make the world a safer place for all. We want to reshape security and empower every user, customer, and developer with a security cloud that protects them with end to end, simplified solutions. The Microsoft Security organization accelerates Microsoft’s mission and bold ambitions to ensure that our company and industry is securing digital technology platforms, devices, and clouds in our customers’ heterogeneous environments, as well as ensuring the security of our own internal estate. Our culture is centered on embracing a growth mindset, a theme of inspiring excellence, and encouraging teams and leaders to bring their best each day. In doing so, we create life-changing innovations that impact billions of lives around the world.
Microsoft Entra's identity platform secures billions of authentications daily — powering sign-in experiences for consumers, enterprises, and developers worldwide. As customer expectations evolve, developers demand fully branded experiences on their own domains, passwordless authentication, and faster integration without sacrificing security. Simultaneously, Microsoft's own applications are converging on a unified sign-in experience across web, mobile, and desktop.
We are looking for a Senior Product Manager with a strong sense of ownership and an AI-first mindset to lead the next generation of identity SDKs — defining new product categories that give external developers unprecedented control over their authentication experiences, while also enabling Microsoft's internal app teams to adopt consistent sign-in flows at scale. This is a 0→1 role: you will define, ship, and grow SDK products that don't exist today. You will own outcomes end-to-end — from strategy through execution — and consistently leverage AI to accelerate how developers discover, integrate, and troubleshoot identity.
You will work across external customer scenarios (Entra External ID) and workforce scenarios (Entra ID) including internal first-party scenarios, partnering deeply with platform engineering, UX teams, developer research, and go-to-market to bring new SDK products from concept to adoption.
Microsoft’s mission is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more. As employees we come together with a growth mindset, innovate to empower others, and collaborate to realize our shared goals. Each day we build on our values of respect, integrity, and accountability to create a culture of inclusion where everyone can thrive at work and beyond.
Responsibilities
Customer-Hosted Web SDK (0→1):
- Customers want their authentication experience to feel like theirs — on their domain, in their design language, with no redirects. Today that level of control requires building from scratch.
- Define and deliver the SDK that gives customers complete UX ownership while we handle the security and scale underneath.
Modern Web Authentication Patterns:
- Own the SDK strategy for single-page applications and server-rendered web apps.
- Define how authentication state, client security models, and browser-based authentication work across modern web frameworks (React, Angular, Next.js, ASP.NET Core).
Unified Sign-In SDK for First-Party Apps:
- Own the SDK that enables Microsoft's internal app teams to adopt a consistent, unified sign-in experience across web, mobile, desktop, and browser.
- Provide integration guidance and adoption playbooks that unblock first-party adoption at scale.
Developer Onboarding & Golden Paths:
- Design the SDK-level onramp for customers adopting Entra External ID for the first time — whether starting greenfield or migrating from another provider.
- Create quickstarts and reference architectures that minimize time-to-first-sign-in.
Cross-Platform SDK Architecture & Tooling:
- Drive consistency across web, mobile, and server-side SDKs — shared error models, token lifecycle, telemetry, versioning, CLI tooling, IDE integration, and AI-assisted diagnostics.
- Ensure the SDK family feels like one product.
- Workforce Identity SDK Innovation: Extend SDK thinking into enterprise scenarios — ISV multi-tenant integration, B2B collaboration patterns, Conditional Access-aware SDKs, and API protection patterns for Entra ID.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree AND 5+ years experience in product/service/program management or software development OR equivalent experience.
Other Requirements:
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft background and Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 3+ years experience shipping developer platforms, SDKs, or API products used by enterprise or consumer-scale developers.
- 5+ years experience defining product strategy and driving cross-functional execution across engineering, design, and go-to-market teams.
- Track record building 0→1 developer products — not just iterating existing ones — with full end-to-end ownership from strategy to shipping.
- AI-first product thinking: experience using AI to fundamentally reshape developer workflows — not just adding AI as a feature.
- Deep understanding of OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, WebAuthn/passkeys, and modern web security patterns (BFF, SPA security, confidential clients).
- Experience driving SDK or platform adoption across large application portfolios — spanning both consumer-scale identity (CIAM) and enterprise workforce scenarios.
- Demonstrated ability to navigate ambiguity, influence without direct authority, and communicate complex technical decisions to both engineering and business audiences.
