Finance Analyst

The firm is looking to recruit an individual with Management Company or corporate accounting experience to assist with closing the monthly books and records, performing accounting analysis and management reporting, and assisting with financial planning and budgeting, the local audit and regulatory & indirect tax filings.

This position demands an analytical approach to problem-solving, as well as outstanding organisational and multi-tasking skills. It requires you to have a keen eye for detail and able to deliver in a fast-paced, demanding environment while remaining calm under pressure.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Responsible for month-end closing of European management entities, specifically our unregulated UK entity, including posting of journal entries and performing reconciliations.
  • Assist in financial statement preparation and guiding local audits to completion.
  • Assist with preparation of VAT filings and other indirect tax matters including managing the relationship with our external advisors.
  • Assist in understanding & analyzing key expense drivers throughout the firm.
  • Working with the wider business to identify areas for optimization and improved efficiency.
  • Interaction with HR, legal, and tax departments.
  • Assistance with EMEA Finance projects and process improvements.
  • Assist preparation of internal management reporting as well as other local filings and surveys.

Qualifications/Skills Required

  • At least 1-2 years of industry experience, preferably working in a Financial Services firm
  • Minimum of 6-7 years of professional experience
  • Preferably 3 years within a “big four” accounting firm with experience of auditing management companies of a hedge fund or asset management company
  • Knowledge of UK GAAP, US GAAP and UK regulatory reporting requirements
  • Excellent analytical skills and judgment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong technical proficiency with web applications and MS Office
  • Ability to multi-task as well as meet short deadlines in a demanding environment
  • Proactive individual with strong interpersonal and client service skills
  • Detail oriented; demonstrates thoroughness and strong ownership of work
