Production Support Engineer- Equity Volatility Applications

This role will be responsible for managing the production systems including Trading, Post-Trade, PnL and Equity Volatility applications. Candidates will also be responsible for software deployment and managing the production environment & there will also be project work for the applications they support, working with global development teams, QA team, Infrastructure Technology and the Portfolio Managers.

The key strategy for production engineering support team revolves around automation tools to allow management of a larger enterprise footprint. The team uses a combination of in-house and industry-standard tools for configuration and application deployment solutions.

The team provides significant value-add during the release process, and ensure quality software delivered in a timely manner.

Principal Responsibilities

  • In this role, the individual is expected to become a subject matter expert for the Trading Services, PnL and Equity Volatility applications in the region.
  • Support and monitor the production environment
  • Build working relationships with trading groups, Middle Office and Back Office teams and be the primary contact in the region for any issue escalations.
  • Liaise with various Development teams globally to coordinate and participate in software/new version releases.
  • Work with global counterparts to provide seamless global coverage.
  • Solve technical application-related issues, independently where possible or leveraging teammates as necessary.
  • Manage communications to the trading staff and internal stakeholders regarding issue/resolution.
  • Uplift environment management tools to reduce risk and streamline efficiency of Support team.
  • Assist with automating processes to achieve efficiency and streamlined trade support.
  • Document and create new knowledge base to provide the most effective solutions to various issues.

Qualifications/Skills Required

  • Candidates must have a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree or higher (preferably in a computer science related subject)
  • Experience with SQL, Linux, Python, and shell scripting technologies.
  • Equity or Equity derivatives product knowledge (2+ years)
  • Experience with Glue42, REST API, Dockers, Redis real-time database and Airflow scheduler is huge plus
  • Experience with version control systems (GIT a plus).
  • Good team player with a strong willingness to participate and help others
  • Support orientated; able to manage trader’s expectations and follow up accordingly
  • Able to prioritize in a fast moving, high pressure, constantly changing environment; good sense of urgency
  • Strong communication skills
