We are currently seeking an Engineering Analyst to join our Energy financial advisory practice in Houston Moelis. Analysts are expected to assume significant levels of responsibility requiring intellectual curiosity, motivation, and analytical aptitude.

Day-to-day responsibilities of an Engineering Analyst include:

  • Help support technical excellence in analyzing and valuing Oil and Gas assets
  • Preparing client presentations and interacting with senior bankers and clients
  • Company and industry research
  • Managing large datasets and extracting business insights

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop Type-Curves and volumes forecasts for oil and gas assets
  • Leverage reservoir engineering and data science skills to identify optimal development strategy
  • Generate undeveloped inventory for oil and gas assets
  • Builds and applies discounted cash flow analysis valuation models based on financial research & analysis (ARIES, PHDWin and/or ComboCurve)
  • Involved in execution activities, including basic responsibilities such as data gathering, analysis and material preparation, as well as taking responsibility for managing standard processes such as preparing deal documentation

  • Strong analytical and numerical skills that put you at ease with financial data
  • Critical thinking and challenging the status quo
  • Must have outstanding presentation skills and the ability to communicate effectively
  • Proven team player who is able to effectively interact with a wide variety of internal groups and clients
  • Strong multi-tasking skills
  • Strong Microsoft Office suite (Excel a must)

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science or Master's degree in Petroleum Engineering
  • Prior experience within the oil and gas industry, either through internship, part-time or full-time

Desired Major: Petroleum Engineer

Students must graduate by: May 2024

Minimum GPA: 3.5
