At Moelis, Associates are part of a unique culture valuing partnership, passion, optimism and hard work. We are seeking a Senior Analyst/Associate with 3-4 years’ experience to join our Restructuring team in London.
Moelis’ Associates are expected to assume significant levels of responsibility requiring intellectual curiosity, leadership and analytical aptitude. The day-to-day responsibilities of an Associate include: financial analysis and modeling, managing a team, preparing client presentations and interacting with senior bankers and clients. A sophisticated level of interpersonal skill is required.
Job Summary
- Advising companies, creditors and other stakeholders on capital structure issues, including restructurings, recapitalisations and other liability management exercises
- Building financial models and running valuations and returns scenarios
- Due diligence of business plans, liquidity forecasts and other financial information
- Analysing credit agreements and other legal documents
- Project management of transactions and coordination of project deliverables, including responsibility for drafting client materials
- Presenting materials to clients
- Liaising with client counterpart(s) and other advisers
- Supporting business development initiatives including exchanging views on distressed situations with funds and legal advisers
- Supervision of and collaboration with analysts
Desired Profile
- 3-4 years’ experience working in Restructuring or closely related areas such as leveraged finance or credit investing
- Undergraduate degree from a top university
- Fluent in English, with fluency in additional languages an advantage
Required Skills
- Strong understanding of accounting and financial concepts and ability to analyse business plans
- Strong understanding of distressed credit, including relevant legal concepts
- Excellent analytical and presentation skills
- Demonstrated maturity, attention to detail, initiative, and problem solving skills
- Team player mentality, and ability to effectively interact with a wide variety of internal groups and clients
- A drive for results, and ability to perform well under pressure and against tight deadlines
- Proactive / entrepreneurial mindset with willingness to take on responsibility
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel including strong financial modelling skills, as well as experienced in using Powerpoint to create impactful presentations
