Reporting to the Regional Consulting Group Advisory Director, the Consulting Group Advisory Director (CGAD) is responsible for sales activity across Advisory products in their given territory. These responsibilities are both strategic (e.g., identifying market opportunities, developing a plan and executing in partnership with home office, regional management and local resources) and tactical (e.g., “get things done”, delivering results against specific targets) in nature. CGAD’s must strategically drive and coordinate sales activity in a manner that is consistent with Morgan Stanley’s values and well-aligned with clients’ individual objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Management of national initiatives and tactical campaigns leveraging Salesforce.
  • Ongoing coaching and development of financial advisors.
  • Partner with Regional Management and Product teams to identify and pursue opportunities and deliver against specific regional and product targets that meet clients’ needs.
  • Drive overall CG business in their coverage area. This includes overall CG penetration and Advisory development with a focus on driving advisory business overall.
  • Create CG education meetings and events. This will include offsite meetings partnered with third party managers. These meetings and events will focus on investment strategy, practice management, advisory development, and CG training.

· Active Series 7 and 63, 65 (or 66) required

· Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance or equivalent work experience

· 5+ years proficiency in financial markets and financial products

· 5+ years of experience in Sales, Marketing, or comparable commercially-oriented activities

· Deep understanding and familiarity with Morgan Stanley’s branch network and Financial Advisors

· Strong knowledge of CG products and platforms. CGAD will also be required to have a strong knowledge of investments and the markets. This will include asset allocation and strategy, portfolio construction and manager search and selection.

· Proven track record of driving results in a sales/marketing role

· Well-recognized leader, culture carrier, and experienced manager, with a demonstrated track record of building, leading, motivating, and managing teams of highly motivated and highly functioning individuals

· Excellent presentation skills. CGAD will be required to present at regional events, complex and branch meetings as well as client events on the overall CG message, CG training, advisory development, as well as investment management.

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $110,000 and $185,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
