We’re seeking someone to join our Global Supplier Services team within Corporate Services as a Sourcing Manager who will be responsible for managing a portfolio of storage and asset disposal supplier relationships within our global technology infrastructure organization.

In the Corporate Services division, we provide solutions that enable Morgan Stanley’s workforce, across our global workplace locations, to work in the service of our clients effectively and efficiently. This is a Director position within Sourcing / Procurement, which is responsible for procurement (e.g., purchasing and supply chain activities), as well as vendor management (e.g., business requirements gathering, sourcing strategy, competitive and market assessments, negotiation, contracting, and relationships associated with outsourced services).Morgan Stanley is an industry leader in financial services, known for mobilizing capital to help governments, corporations, institutions, and individuals around the world achieve their financial goals.

What you’ll do in the role:

  • Act as a “quarterback” to facilitate both new supplier onboards and renewals with a primary focus on the storage and asset disposal categories including suppliers such as NetApp, Dell, Pure, TES-AMM, and Iron Mountain.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to technology stakeholders and work collaboratively across multiple levels and geographies to develop sound sourcing strategies that drive baseline reductions and cost avoidance as well as mitigate risk
  • Leverage all tools and resources available, including but not limited to developing and conducting competitive bids and leveraging benchmarking/advisory companies, to create value and impact
  • Create, present, and defend sound financial analysis and interpretation of supplier proposals to stakeholders as well as Sourcing Leadership
  • Work cross-functionally with Legal and Compliance; Third Party Program Management; and Finance on deal analysis and preparation, contract drafting and execution, funding and budgets #LI-MB1
  • Fulfill a variety of administrative requirements including but not limited to preparing supporting documentation for sourcing projects, conducting various due diligence tasks to enable contract execution, preparing purchase order requests and facilitating resolution of payment disputes

What you’ll bring to the role:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Business or Technology
  • Minimum of 5-8 years relevant experience in hardware sourcing positions of increasing responsibility
  • Knowledge of storage platform, technology, and metrics
  • Experience in execution of complex storage transactions such as enterprise license and maintenance and support agreements in support of storage hardware. Example – NetApp Enterprise License and Support Services framework.
  • Commercial negotiation and influencing skills to drive savings and deliver value to stakeholders
  • Experience in contract interpretation, analysis and drafting across Master Agreements, Schedules, Trial Agreements, and Non-Disclosure Agreements
  • Experience working collaboratively and cross-functionally on RFx, deal negotiation, and contract execution processes
  • Experience in vendor management

Additionally, the successful candidate must:

  • Be highly motivated, proactive, and take ownership of tasks and projects
  • Have strong written and verbal communications skills so that information and data are presented clearly, objectively, and concisely to multiple levels at the Firm
  • Demonstrate proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite of products to facilitate deal preparation and communication to stakeholders and Sourcing leadership
  • Have experience using procurement tools such as Ariba #LI-MB1
