We’re seeking someone to join our team as an Associate in the Investment Management division, supports the equity, fixed income, liquidity, and alternative businesses for Morgan Stanley Investment Management (MSIM), providing middle-office services including portfolio manager support, client services, portfolio transitions, market registration, product data and performance and attribution analysis. MSIM Operations also provides mutual fund support, derivative processing, and counterparty and credit event management.
In the Operations division, we partner with business units across the Firm to support financial transactions, devise and implement effective controls and develop client relationships, driving strategic automation solutions by embracing a transformation mindset and challenging the status quo. This is a Team Supervisor position at Director level within Core Services, which is responsible for performing and managing product-agnostic and centralized operational services across several businesses and products.

What you’ll do in the role:
· Responsible for day to day fixed income product related tasks, resolution of issues, as well as longer term projects.
· Responsibility include, ensuring all day to day tasks are complete, accurate and escalate unresolved issues as needed.
· Review the Aladdin vs RKS Cash, Position and MV reconciliations and investigate breaks.
· Review the Aladdin vs LMS Cash, Position and MV reconciliations and investigate breaks.
· Review the Aladdin vs Trustee Cash, Position and MV reconciliations and investigate breaks.
· Works closely with Traders, Back Office, Reconciliation Teams, Brokers and Custodians to ensure that all trades and cash is represented and settling correctly.
· Correspond with internal and external contacts regarding the investigation and resolution of breaks.
· Response to all Functional team queries including Investment Team and Trading, as needed.
What you’ll bring to the role:
- Experience in the investment management industry.
- Strong knowledge of equity, fixed income and derivative security master and related reference data.
- Knowledge of Aladdin applications, particularly Security Master. Other modules such as Trade Entry, Dashboard, and Reconciliations a plus.
- Experience with data warehouses and data flows a plus.
- Skills with automation tools such as PowerBI, UIPath and Alteryx a plus.
- Strong organizational skills with strict attention to detail.
- Demonstrated success working in a high volume, high intensity environment.
- Proven record of collaborating with colleagues across geographic and functional boundaries.
- Ability to 'think out of the box' and look for creative solutions.
- Demonstrated commitment to risk control and management.
- Demonstrated skills working on a team including clear communication, being proactive, handoffs and escalation as needed.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Professional and decisive with outstanding business judgment and ability to see issues through to resolution.
- Proficient computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Office.
