The Data Issues Management Governance team is responsible for all aspects of governance around data issues, including the production of metrics and reporting for management, working with issue owners to accurately document the data issue and running controls to ensure policy standards are met.

The Finance Data Controller team is growing in Glasgow, presenting a great opportunity for the successful candidate to help shape the function going forward, gain exposure to a wide range of functions and products across Morgan Stanley, and develop a network across the firm.

The successful candidate will work with colleagues in Glasgow as well as global Finance, Technology, Operations and other business units.

What will you be doing?

· Working with global colleagues to build and document internal processes and controls in relation to data issues management procedures

· Liaising with Finance data issue owners to ensure completeness and accuracy of reporting around data issues

· Preparing high quality materials for multiple internal forums as well as for internal senior management

· Identifying opportunities for ongoing improvement

What we’re looking for:

· Self-motivated with the ability to work consistently and efficiently to achieve goals either as an individual or as part of a team.

· Experience of interpreting, summarising and presenting results in a meaningful format to clients and Senior Management.

· Excellent communication skills (both oral and written) and ability to engage with colleagues/clients of all levels.

· Highly numerate with an attention to detail and accuracy.

· Strong Excel skills.

· Accounting background and knowledge of Financial Statements; qualified or part-qualified accountant.

· Understanding and experience of Data Governance and/or Data Issues Management.

· Experience within the Financial Services Industry

Where will you be working?


Working in a collaborative growing team in the Glasgow Finance division on a 3/2 hybrid model.

The Finance Division reports to the Chief Financial Officer and consists of some 3,000 employees worldwide. Finance protects the Morgan Stanley franchise by serving as guardian of the Firm’s books and records and by contributing to firm wide risk management and risk reduction. This division maintains relationships with Morgan Stanley’s various industry and government regulators, and also serves as the conduit of financial information to the outside investment community. Finance plays a critical role as advisor to Morgan Stanley’s various businesses and its senior management team.
