The Tailored Lending (TL) Group within Morgan Stanley Wealth Management is seeking a CRE Portfolio Manager to help grow and manage our Ultra High New Worth (UHNW) Commercial Real Estate (CRE) lending portfolio serving UHNW clients (generally clients with a minimum net worth of at least $50 million).
The CRE Portfolio Manager will assist the Senior Asset Manager in leading a team of asset managers in maintaining a quality loan portfolio, collaborate with Senior Lending Transactors (SLTs) and Lending Transactors (LTs) on client management, and partner with credit risk management on portfolio risk control and reporting.
The position will be based in the New York area and will support the team and portfolio throughout the US.
Position Summary
Experienced credit professional, reporting to the Senior Asset Manager, and supporting the broader asset management team in the oversight of a complex and highly structured loan portfolio.
Responsibilities include supporting the asset management team in the following:
Manage modifications, renewals, and annual reviews of existing credit facilities.
Spread guarantor and borrower financial statements, test and monitor financial covenants, perform collateral analysis, prepare market assessments, and conduct loan document review.
Prepare clear and concise credit memoranda for minor/major amendments, annual and interim reviews, which are to, include facility structure outline, financial analysis, collateral assessment, risk and mitigant identification, and recommendations for credit review and approval.
Ensure portfolio data integrity within internal systems.
Ensure accurate and timely update of loan portfolio metrics, risk ratings, and reports.
Participate in ad hoc projects to improve quality and effectiveness of reporting, tracking and overall portfolio management.
Develop and implement remedial action plans when necessary
Required Experience
Bachelor’s Degree required
Minimum 7+ years of experience in commercial real estate credit analysis and asset management.
Formal credit training preferred
Skills/Abilities
Possess excellent oral and written communication skills and presentation skills
Detail orientated with exceptional analytical and interpersonal skills
Solid understanding of risk management principles as it relates to CRE mortgage lending
Significant accounting and finance knowledge
Knowledge of legal terminology and familiarity with loan document review
Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines and manage client expectations
Focus and possess strong work ethic
Possess an aptitude to collaborate effectively with related parties across the firm in a team-oriented environment

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $110,000 and $185,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
