Data Strategist in Wealth Management Analytics & Data Organization

Team Profile:


The Analytics & Data (A&D) organization is a key growth area within Morgan Stanley's Wealth Management Division, playing a critical role in the execution of the wider Wealth Management strategy. The use of analytics and data will be a key driver in accelerating growth across all client segments, enabling data-driven decision making and delivering the best client experience.

You will:

  • Partner with the Investment Solutions organization to support delivering industry-leading investment products, programs and platforms to financial advisors and their clients
  • Collaborate extensively with other teams and business partners within and outside the department (such as sales, marketing, product owners, data science and data visualization teams) to deliver business solutions and support decision making
  • Utilize proactive problem-solving and innovative thinking to address challenges
  • Provide analytics and insight for various business initiatives and projects
  • Prepare and deliver presentations to highlight important metrics and showcase achievements
  • Create relevant documentation where needed
  • Assist in the development of Tableau dashboards and data visualizations for reporting to senior management and business users including Financial Advisors
  • Liaise with Technology partners to understand the data source and suggest enhancements as needed

You have:

  • 0-3 years data analytics/strategy experience
  • Bachelor’s or higher degree in Business Management or Economics or IT
  • Strong analytical mindset
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Detail oriented and ability to handle, prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Passion for providing help to navigate through complex decisions for clients
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Great presentation skills

You might also have:

  • Tech skills: SQL/Python/R
  • Background in the Financial Services Industry, with an emphasis on wealth management
  • Experience working with technology teams closely
  • Experience in data modelling and visualization technologies, such as: Dataiku, Tableau, PowerBI, QlikView
