Morgan Stanley Services Group Inc. seeks a Vice President, Application Support in Alpharetta, Georgia
Detect, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues affecting software production applications. Coordinate with software development and external teams to escalate software issues. Maintain clear, concise, and timely communications with affected parties during the investigation and resolution of individual and system-wide software outages. Ensure the stability of the technology production environment. Develop and continually revise suitable policies and procedures to ensure appropriate software application development standards are available to guide development of software systems deployed to production. Adhere to the Change Implementation Management guidelines and policies for all software systems deployed to production. Address service technology requests for data or other activities that require access to software production systems. Work with development teams during software application development to ensure that new systems and projects meet the production standard.
Salary: Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $178,250 and $178,250 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
Requirements:
Requires a Bachelor’s in Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related degree and five (5) years of experience in the position offered or five (5) years as a Project Manager, Technology Lead, Consultant, IT Operations, Analyst Programmer or a related role. Requires five (5) years of experience with: creating monitoring dashboard and application alerts including Azure dashboards and workbooks; triaging, troubleshooting and finding rootcause for software application incidents; synthetic monitoring tools including Apica or Dynatrace; MS SQL server or Oracle; ITSM tools including Service Now, Remedy or JIRA; and supporting mission critical software applications in the finance and banking domain. Requires three (3) years of experience with: Supporting public Cloud based applications including Azure; implementing SRE principles including SLO, SLI, and Error Budget; programming language including C#, Java or Python; scripting knowledge in Unix or Perl; improving resiliency and reliability of software systems; and software application performance management tooling. Requires two (2) years of experience with: Observability tools including Azure app insight, log analytics and application dynamics; scripting in mobile tooling including Perfecto; and 24X7 operational follow the sun support model. Requires any amount of experience with: ITIL processes.
