Workplace Collaboration Engineer – Vice President, P4

The WTS Messaging and Conferencing team seeks an Infrastructure Engineer who will enhance, integrate, automate and support the Messaging platforms operated by the firm.

The candidate will be expected to provide daily operational support, engineering and design of new and custom solutions for Morgan Stanley’s’ Messaging squad.

This role involves infrastructure support skills, ensuring all products we support are operational and stable. The role will provide opportunities to learn a broad range of technologies such as Zoom, Cisco Webex software, Cisco Video endpoints, and work closely with vendors to drive the direction of the technology. A candidate with working exposure and existing experience with these technologies will be at an advantage.

This environment is extremely important and considered by the business as “crit zero”, not only to the end users but also to the application development groups who use the platforms. Because of this, suitable candidates will need strong technical and interpersonal skills.

What You will do:

  • System management and upkeep of the production environment
  • Representing and managing the system with control functions such as internal audit, legal, security teams
  • Problem diagnosis, troubleshooting, escalation and notification.
  • Ability to convey procedures for operational support of the system, provide training to other groups to share expertise
  • Run book documentation - inventories, problem resolution processes, documentation
  • Testing of server upgrades and patch deployment
  • PowerShell software development to drive archiving, provisioning, reporting and productivity improvements in communications technologies (chat messaging and meetings/ unified communications)
  • Update and maintain existing scripts and toolset
  • Successful navigation of code and security reviews
  • Ability to interface with scripting stakeholders to drive improvements, fixes
  • Understanding of design and implementation of communications technology infrastructure, to drive efficient design of software interfaces to those platforms
  • Ability to work with developers and operational engineers to successfully implement /rollout and debug solutions

Desired Skills:

  • Deploying applications in cloud based infrastructure (Azure/AWS) that connect to existing on premises systems outside the scope of a single vendor.
  • Deploying and administering communications and/or messaging technologies (video/phone/email or chat) in an enterprise environment
  • Prior experience with Windows or Linux System administration - configuration management, entitlement management, software installation
  • Demonstrated ability to deploy, operate, upgrade and transition between communications application
  • integrating communications with other automation systems (bots/CRM systems/line of business applications)
  • Prior experience applying security principles to infrastructure - a combination of detection and resolution of vulnerabilities, conducting application security architecture reviews for newly configured systems
  • Industry experience with Teams, Zoom, and Video conferencing

Required Technical skills

  • Administration experience with the key platforms in an enterprise environment - Zoom/Teams/ Cisco Collaboration suite
  • Office 365 experience
  • Windows server skills
  • Active Directory admin skills
  • Scripting skills (PowerShell, Python or .NET)
  • Understanding of Agile methodologies
  • Networking concepts/troubleshooting (wireshark, network trace, firewall, proxies)

Education Level
B.S. Degree preferred
