Profile Description
We’re seeking someone to join our Finance Operations Risk Tech (FORT) team as a Senior Business Analyst in Operations Technology.
CDRT (Counterparty Data and Regulatory Technology) is part of Operations Technology and is responsible for firmwide infrastructure for managing counter party information, client and account onboarding and all regulatory adherences for the clients.

Operations Technology
Operations Technology develops and maintains systems in support of Morgan Stanley's global Operations , including (but not limited to) Settlements, Confirmations, Regulatory Reporting, Position Keeping, Corporate Actions processing and other post-trade functions. Operations Technology is a global organization that is client-focused and functionally aligned. Our organization is built to support our clients functional, regional and business-facing requirements while delivering innovative technology and ensuring plant and processing stability. The Firm operates at scale with up to 40 million trades processed on peak volume days and hundreds of billions of dollars of daily settlements with activity ongoing in multiple countries and currencies across the globe. There is a great breadth of financial products that our Operations plant handles across equity and fixed income, from cash products to complex derivatives and loans.
Business Analysis
This is a Director Position that analyzes business processes, identifies needs, and establishes requirements to enhance efficiency and productivity through a blend of business acumen and analytical skills.

What you’ll do in the role:
We have built strong techno-functional teams which partner with our offices globally taking global ownership of systems and products. We have a vibrant and diverse mix of technologists working on different technologies and functional domains. There is a large focus on innovation, inclusion, giving back to the community and sharing knowledge.
CDRT is working on the build-out of the next generation documentation platform for onboarding and regulatory process. This will be a single platform offering front-to-back life cycle management for documentation involved in onboarding, regulatory, taxation and contracts negotiation.
This platform will be leveraged by stakeholders across sales, finance, compliance, regulatory services, reference data services, credit etc. to manage the onboarding aspects from a single platform providing seamless onboarding experience to our clients as well as partners across the firm.
We have formed number of new agile squads for build out of these functions on the new platform and we need experienced business and data analyst for these squads.
What you’ll bring to the role:
Analysis of business processes to understand current setup, navigating through multiple systems, products and coordinate with multiple stakeholders
Conduct user interviews and run workshops documenting current state process and pain points
Propose and gain consensus on future state processes, focusing on the creation of new centralized team
Create user journeys and personas
Create business requirements (BRDs) for extension of existing Firm onboarding platforms to support new functions. At times create FRDs (functional requirements)
Elaborate requirements and provide support to multiple IT development teams in the implementation of requirements
Present findings to senior stakeholders
SKILLS REQUIRED:
10+ years business and data analyst experience (preferably in banking)
Experience in product-management and playing the product-owner role
Experience in managing multiple stakeholders
Experience in authoring business and functional requirements
Experience with Data and Business analysis tools/tech SQL, Perl/Python, Visio, Rally, JIRA, Boxi, Collibra, Signavio, Excel etc.
Experience with Data governance
5-8 years experience in an Ops / IT project leadership role with commensurate people management experience.
Experience in mapping business requirements to product features
Experience with BPMN 2.0 process flows
Client Onboarding experience a major plus
Reference Data experience a major plus
Use case documentation a plus
