We’re seeking someone to join our CDRR Technology team as a Data Engineer, in Non-Financial Risk Technology to provides IT support to the Morgan Stanley Non-Financial Risk organization. The Financial Crimes Technology department (FCT) is part of the NFRT organization that among other things is responsible for the support of the Firm's Anti Money Laundering (AML), Enterprise Client Risk Ranking (ECRR), Single Client View (SCV), Office of Foreign Asset Control (OFAC) Sanction Screening programs, Negative News Screening programs and Risk Assessments. The AML, Sanctions Screening & NNS programs are supported by an application suite that enables surveillance of firm and client activity, customer identification, as well as ensuring the Firm's compliance with various regulatory requirements.

This is Director position that provides specialist data analysis and expertise that drive decision-making and business insights as well as crafting data pipelines, implementing data models, optimizing data processes for improved data accuracy and accessibility, including applying machine learning and AI-based techniques.

What you’ll do in the role:
Hands on Pyspark Experience in designing and implementing robust ETL framework with error handling and fault tolerance on Distributed cluster environment
Perform data enquiry, data analysis and data sourcing in Relational and Big Data database environments.
Develop a thorough understanding of the technology systems, data stores, data pipelines, job streams etc.
Translate business requirements into data models and program design specifications
Modify ETL and other programs to implement changes to business requirements
Respond to questions from business analysts and developers regarding query building and optimization Troubleshoot data issues and work with data providers for resolution. Perform L3support when needed
What you’ll bring to the role:
At least 5 years financial industry technology experience and knowledge of financial services data
Experience with coding in all: Pyspark, Python, SQL
Strong knowledge of relational databases and data modelling
Strong SQL query-writing skills
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
Good verbal and written communication skills
Desired Skills:
Hands-on Experience with Graph Database/Stardog
Experience with Database Architecture and design principles
Hands-on experience with cloud-based ETL pipeline development and deployment
Experience with coding Autosys job definitions
Experience with Data Modelling tools (e.g., Power Designer)
Experience and Understanding of Data Quality Rules and Implementation
