Position Description:

This position offers a unique opportunity for a candidate to leverage and enhance analytical skills by working with the Capital Markets Risk Team within Morgan Stanley Wealth Management’s Investment Solutions Division. The successful candidate will be an insightful, analytical, creative, and team-oriented individual who is willing and able to interact with a variety of colleagues in a dynamic environment. The candidate will primarily support U.S. based risk management in a number of department and regulatory initiatives, to ensure continued adherence to the risk and control framework.

Primary responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Gather and analyse large sets of financial and other types of data from different sources for risk and issue management... Communicating and escalating findings to the appropriate stakeholders
  • Prepare and review and delivery of risk and control based initiatives across business coverage within Capital Markets
  • Extract data from multiple sources, organize to a standardized format and conduct detailed analysis of the findings.
  • Prepare and perform various analysis of daily trade data for different security types.
  • Contribute to data transformation and AI enablement initiatives that enhance capabilities within the Team.
  • Perform an annual review of counterparties within the Capital Markets department

Knowledge and Skills Required:

  • Undergraduate or Graduate (BCOM/BMS) with 3 to 5 years of financial industry work experience.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and MS Database skills, including PowerPoint, Teams and SharePoint. Also, experience in data analytics of large data sets.
  • Strong skills in oral and written communication including experience in effectively and transparently communicating with colleagues and management in a different geographic location.
  • Detail oriented with strong analytical and organizational skills, with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines, whether working individually or with the Team.
  • Attention to detail and ability to prioritize deliverables and daily workload to meet deadlines.
  • Working knowledge of how to use a Bloomberg is preferred not required. Understanding of the financial services industry, especially for Fixed Income and Equities. Awareness of the risk and regulatory landscape of the financial services industry a plus.
  • Knowledge and implementation of artificial intelligence concepts and be able to utilize to enhance daily activities preferred.
