Legal Intern (Mexico) - Job Description Summary:
As a Legal Intern at Morgan Stanley, you will gain invaluable exposure and get seasoned in the complex legal and regulatory environment of the financial industry. Working closely with the General Counsel, you will assist in a wide range of activities fostering your personal and professional skills.
Main Responsibilities:
As part of the in-house legal department, the Legal Intern key responsibilities include:
- Helping to provide legal coverage to all business units including cash equities, fixed income businesses, investment banking, capital markets as well as to the different infrastructure and support functions such as Human Resources, Credit and Risk Management, Corporate Services, Operations, IT, Finance and taxes, etc.
- Assisting to prepare and control documentation related to the Corporate Secretary, including meetings, materials and minutes of the Board of Directors, Audit Committee and shareholders meetings, powers of attorney, etc.
- Collaborating closely with Compliance and Internal Control functions in implementing legal and regulatory changes; addressing regulatory and audit requirements; and the review and update of internal policies and procedures ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and global policies.
- Support in preparing legal analyses and completing reports in connection with legal risk management.
Qualifications, Experience, Other Skills:
- Candidate should be in 4th or 5th year of Law school;
- Proven interest in financial markets;
- Fluency in English (reading, writing and speaking) is recommended;
- Fluency in Spanish is a must
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications.
