What you’ll do in the role:

Morgan Stanley Investment Management Inc. is seeking a Senior Associate, Global Portfolio Analysis & Reporting in New York, NY to generate recurring reports and create custom analysis that summarize business, financial, and/or economic data for review by executives, managers, clients, and other stakeholders. Work with portfolio managers, marketing and sales on all ad hoc client queries and highlight performance drivers. Enhance existing client and internal reporting for affiliated businesses. Respond to ad hoc contribution, attribution, characteristics, peer analytics, ex post performance and risk statistics requests and perform custom analysis and detailed examinations. Monitor and highlight key performance drivers to senior management. Ensure and improve data integrity and quality. Collaborate with IT and project management teams to re-engineer processes and increase effectiveness of existing reports. Telecommuting permitted up to 1 day per week.

What you’ll bring to the role:

-Requires a Bachelor’s in Business Administration, Business Intelligence, Computer Science, or a related field

-Requires five (5) years of experience in the position offered or five (5) years as a Senior Associate, Associate, or a related occupation

-Requires four (4) years of experience with the following skills:

  • Traditional asset management investments including: cash equities, fixed income, FX forwards and derivatives;
  • Conducting performance calculation;
  • Developing and reviewing reporting data;
  • Attribution theory and practice;
  • Analyzing the performance and sector attribution using third party tools;
  • Serving as a product owner and leading development to design;
  • Building and improving scalable data products, services, and capabilities;
  • Working with stakeholders to identify customer needs and developing user-focused reports and solutions;
  • Advanced Excel, including designing, creating, and maintaining complex spreadsheets, power queries, reports, and charts;
  • SQL and data visualization tools including: Tableau;
  • Developing strategic plans for data-driven initiatives.

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $145,000 and $160,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
