TRAINING PROGRAM
Over the course of 10 weeks, Summer Analysts will gain meaningful experience through a combination of structured trainings, professional development programming and networking events. Participants develop a broad understanding of how Finance at Morgan Stanley operates while exploring opportunities to enhance business processes through both their day-to-day deliverables and group project presentations.
DEPARTMENT PROFILE
The Finance Division reports to the Chief Financial Officer and consists of ~3,400 employees worldwide. Finance protects the Morgan Stanley franchise by serving as guardian of the Firm's books and records, and by contributing to firm wide risk management and risk reduction. This division maintains relationships with Morgan Stanley's various industry and government regulators, and also serves as the conduit of financial information to the outside investment community. Finance plays a critical role as advisor to Morgan Stanley's various businesses and its senior management team.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Participate in an immersive learning experience that combines structured training with practical application, partnering with teammates on day-to-day deliverables and special projects within your assigned Finance function
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, enhance controls and increase operational efficiency through the use of data, automation, AI-enabled tools and other Finance technologies
- Collaborate with other Summer Analysts on a group project focused on solving a business challenge, improving a process or developing an AI-driven solution for Finance
- Ensure the integrity of Morgan Stanley's books and records by providing extensive reporting, analysis, risk awareness and partnership with internal and external stakeholders
- Gain exposure to core financial concepts, technical skills, key business processes and industry knowledge through our Finance University platform and live training sessions
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- You are pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics or a related major.
- You are graduating between December 2027 and June 2028
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
- Strong analytical, communication, leadership and problem-solving skills with a focus on delivering timely and accurate results
- Ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment while taking ownership and working independently when needed, improving both team and individual processes
- Passion for Finance and an interest in building a career within a leading global financial services institution, with a commitment to continuous learning and professional growth
- Curiosity in using AI, emerging technologies and transformation, with an interest in leveraging new tools and solutions to drive efficiency and business impact
- Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, sound judgement and the ability to manage competing priorities while handling sensitive information with discretion
To qualify, applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States, and should not require, now or in the future, sponsorship for employment visa status.

Expected base pay rate for the role will be $33.66 per hour at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
