Program Description

Morgan Stanley Paris is offering a 6-month internship starting either January 2027, or July 2027, within its Operations Department, with a focus on OTC Derivatives Operations, digital transformation, automation and Artificial Intelligence.

The intern will support the team in the processing of OTC FID and IED Derivatives products, while also contributing to the development and implementation of innovative technology and automation solutions within the Operations environment.

Key Responsibilities

Operations

  • Support Back and Middle Office processing activities, including pre-matching, settlement, breaks and fails reconciliation, confirmation processing and trade allocations.
  • Interact with clients and internal stakeholders, including Front Office, Drafting, Legal and Risk Management.
  • Support the appropriate flow of information and escalation of operational issues.
  • Develop an understanding of OTC Derivatives products and the associated trade lifecycle.

Digital Transformation, AI & Automation

  • Identify opportunities to automate and improve existing operational processes.
  • Support the development of solutions using Microsoft Copilot, Power BI, Power Automate and other AI/digital tools.
  • Explore the use of AI agents and agent-based solutions to support operational workflows, knowledge management and team efficiency.
  • Help develop dashboards, reporting and data visualisation tools for operational monitoring and management information.
  • Participate in the testing and implementation of new AI and technology solutions applicable to Operations.
  • Work with the team to identify manual or repetitive activities that could benefit from automation.
  • Support documentation and knowledge-sharing initiatives around newly implemented digital solutions.

The internship will provide exposure to both IED/FID OTC Derivatives Operations and technology-driven transformation, as well as opportunities to interact with other businesses such as Sales & Trading and other stakeholders.

Candidate Profile

We are looking for a motivated, curious and proactive candidate with:

  • Fluent French and English
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Good communication, teamwork and organisational skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Good Excel and general technology skills
  • Interest in financial markets and OTC Derivatives
  • Strong interest in AI, automation and digital transformation
  • Exposure to Copilot, Power BI, Power Automate, Python, SQL or other AI/IT tools would be an advantage
  • Ability to learn quickly, take initiative and adapt to change

The internship offers the opportunity to combine Financial Markets Operations experience with exposure to AI, automation and digital innovation.
