Job Summary

As a member of the Program Management Office, this role requires you to work with technical team members, product managers, stakeholders, IT and senior leadership. It requires you to have a blend of engineering program manager as well as product owner skills.
In this role you will plan, lead, and manage engineering development programs. You should have the ability to understand the vision, roadmap, and priorities and execute the priorities effectively and efficiently working with an agile squad. You will be responsible for the product ownership of modules and capabilities within the NetApp Active IQ portfolio. You will take an active role in driving program execution from definition through successful release. This is a challenging position working in a very fast paced environment, with the opportunity to positively influence greater business outcomes.

Job Requirements

  • Work with the leadership team, Product Manager, and squad members, and execute on the priorities of the squad.
  • Ensure alignment of priorities with business objectives & goals.
  • Specifically, manage Agile teams to plan and deliver sprints.
  • Manage product backlog in a requirement management system.
  • Partner with the scrum master, engineering manager, and squad members to regularly plan and lead the execution of requirements.
  • Analyze problems and drive solutions involving multiple elements of program planning.
  • Ensure squad members understand the objectives and goals of the squad.
  • Partner with Product Managers to prioritize incoming user feedback.
  • Hands-on experience with writing user stories, working with a product backlog, and working in requirement management tools/systems such as Jira is required
  • Knowledge of JIRA and Agile methodology.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, negotiation, and organizational skills are required.
  • Excellent knowledge of product lifecycle, tools, processes, and operations planning.
  • Demonstrated experience working with software development engineers and product managers on projects.
  • Program Management Training/Product owner training or demonstrated experience.
  • The tasks this individual is responsible for are often unstructured and the issues addressed are less defined requiring new perspectives and creative approaches.
  • This individual will apply attained experiences and knowledge in solving problems that are complex in scope requiring in-depth evaluation.
  • Demonstrate good judgment in solving problems as well as identifying problems in advance and proposing solutions.
  • This individual must work effectively with Staff to Vice President level employees within the function, across functions, and with external parties.
  • To be successful, this individual must demonstrate favorable results through regular leadership and influencing others.

Education

• A minimum of 12 years of experience is required.8 to 15 years of experience is preferred. Prior program management experience and product ownership experience is required.
• A Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or Computer Science, or equivalent experience is required.
