NYU Abu Dhabi invites NYU faculty to express interest in offering courses to teach at NYU Abu Dhabi. We welcome proposals aligned with the curricular needs of NYU Abu Dhabi's academic divisions: Arts & Humanities, Engineering, Science, and Social Science. 

Teaching appointments are planned more than a year in advance and are for the following durations:

• One full academic year (successful candidates will teach a minimum of three full-semester courses, and should expect to teach their standard NYU course load)
• One semester (successful candidates will teach two full-semester courses)
• 7-week appointment in the fall or spring semester (successful candidates will teach one 7-week course)
• Summer Term
• J-Term

Proposals will be reviewed by the NYU Abu Dhabi Deans and the NYU Associate Vice Chancellor for Global Network Faculty Planning. Teaching appointments are subject to the normal consultations and approvals by the relevant NYU School, Dean, and Department Chair, and are subject to final budget approval. 

Applicants need to hold a full-time current faculty position at NYU New York or NYU Shanghai.

Faculty should expect to teach their standard courseload at NYU Abu Dhabi.

• A letter expressing your interest: how your courses would fulfill curricular requirements at NYU Abu Dhabi, pre-existing relationships or intellectual mentorships with NYU Abu Dhabi faculty, and the timing of your availability.

• Course #1: brief course description with a proposed title (max 1,200 characters including spaces).

• Course #2: brief course description with a proposed title (max 1,200 characters including spaces).

• Course #3: brief course description with a proposed title (max 1,200 characters including spaces).

The following two points will be asked later in the process for shortlisted proposals.

• Letter of support: NYU Department Chair. 

• Letter of support: NYU Abu Dhabi Dean.

We will begin reviewing applications on December 1, 2023, for appointments in AY2024-2025. The deadline to submit is February 15, 2024.
