Description
The Managed Care Technical Assistance Center (MCTAC), an initiative funded by the Office of Mental Health, seeks a full time Senior Coordinator to join our team. MCTAC provides ongoing support as the technical assistance arm to the NYS State Office of Mental Health (OMH) and Office of Addiction Services and Supports (OASAS) by providing timely resources and offerings to NYS behavioral health providers navigating the changing healthcare landscape. As part of this technical assistance, MCTAC provides policy, administrative, infrastructure, and implementation support to NYS mental health and substance use agencies working with Medicaid, managed care, and new models of value-based payment systems of care. This position, under the direction of the Director of Healthcare Innovation, will plan, administer, and execute the vision, strategy, and goals of the Managed Care Technical Assistance Center.
The Managed Care Technical Assistance Center is housed within the NYU McSilver Institute for Poverty Policy and Research. The McSilver Institute is committed to creating new knowledge about the root causes of poverty, developing evidence-based interventions to address its consequences, and rapidly translating research findings into action through policy and best practices.
Responsibilities:
- Work under the direction of senior staff, and in collaboration with other TAC staff and partners, to project manage, coordinate, and facilitate statewide training initiatives.
- This involves being the primary point person to manage and oversee logistics for internal and external meetings and events, including scheduling, booking rooms, preparing materials, setting up conference calls, travel arrangements, catering and conference spaces). This role also includes contacting vendors for services and overseeing the production and distribution of materials.
- Prepare content for meetings, trainings, and events to support behavioral health providers in learning or better understanding state policies and regulations.
- Support other TAC staff, consultants, and projects by applying relevant subject matter expertise.
- Effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders and keep project team(s) well informed of changes and lessons learned from various events
- Maintain accurate meeting summaries, minutes and notes that capture discussions and action items.
- Draft communications (emails, announcements, newsletters),
- Collect and analyze survey data and registration data, perform data entry, and pull together reports that synthesize overall participation and feedback for events
- Work independently to complete tasks accurately with very little consultation/oversight and guidance needed
- Ability to anticipate in advance the next steps of projects and to begin drafting or working on next steps without requiring prompting from other team members
- Use problem-solving skills when facing obstacles in the planning and coordination process. Adapt to changes in a fast-paced environment and identify solutions that aim to meet the goal of the project
- Be open to receiving feedback and changing approaches to align our work with the interests and goals of stakeholders
- Stay informed and up-to-date on the forefront of emerging industry practices, particularly as relates to technologies used for event and webinar coordination, development and implementation.
- Performs other duties as assigned. When needed, other responsibilities may arise for projects and will be discussed with the MCTAC team and supervisor(s) involved.

- Highly organized, with a lot of attention to detail, and critical thinking skills to identify when information is inaccurate or mis-aligned to ensure that work of our team is of high quality

- Interest in healthcare policy and committed in improving the quality of health care that is provided to underserved, at-risk, and vulnerable populations
Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in health related field OR demonstrated minimum of 3 years’ experience working in a health related field.
- Must be able to travel independently between multiple work sites and events
- Healthcare industry experience is a plus.
- Proven ability to achieve goals in dynamic team environments.
- Professional, friendly, dependable, and highly-motivated individual with a can-do attitude.
- Must have strong computer skills and knowledge of common programs such as Microsoft Office and G Suite. Familiarity with Zoom and Webex video conferencing platforms.

This position is full-time and includes a generous benefits package. In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is $60,000- 70,000. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as specific grant funding and the terms of the research grant when extending an offer.

NYU McSilver is currently operating on a hybrid schedule of 3-days a week in-person.

This is a grant funded position with the opportunity for ongoing renewal reviewed on an annual basis.
