The position would begin on September 1, 2025. The appointed faculty member will be a member of the Department of Media, Culture and Communication. The Department of Media, Culture, and Communication serves over 1000 undergraduate majors, a growing number of whom seek to integrate media production into their studies of media as socio-cultural phenomena. We seek applicants to teach critical practice-based courses and to support student projects in our undergraduate and masters programs in the areas of sound production; quantitative and qualitative data research and visualization; and/or, critical practice engagement with generative AI/machine learning.
NYU Steinhardt is a uniquely interdisciplinary school, committed to a holistic understanding of people and human development across the lifespan. NYU Steinhardt has one-of-a-kind integration of education, communication, health, and the arts, with eleven departments, seventeen research centers and institutes, nearly 300 full-time faculty and close to six thousand students. We are committed to substantially increasing the proportion of our faculty from historically underrepresented groups as we strive to create the most intellectually diverse, inclusive, and equitable institution that we can.
