Description
The Stern School of Business invites applications for a tenured faculty appointment at the level of associate or full professor. This school-wide search seeks to recruit candidates with research, teaching, and curriculum or program development expertise in the business of healthcare. Successful candidates will be appointed in one of Stern’s six departments: Accounting; Economics; Finance; Management and Organizations; Marketing; and Technology, Operations, and Statistics.
Candidates should demonstrate the ability to teach multiple specialized electives in the healthcare field as well as contribute to the development and planning of Stern’s healthcare curriculum. Exceptional candidates should also bring an understanding of the varied players in the healthcare system–including public and private insurers, hospital systems, physicians, patients, pharmaceutical and device manufacturers, regulatory agencies, and others—to share insights with the Stern community and outside audiences. Such engagement includes publishing high-impact research, advising students, and developing programming through Stern’s Healthcare Initiative.

In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is:
Associate Professor (with tenure): $230,000 - $330,000.
Full Professor (with tenure): $250,000 - $350,000
This pay range represents base pay only (for 9 months) and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.
Qualifications
Candidates should have a PhD, or candidates must have successfully defended their doctoral dissertation prior to appointment. In addition, candidates should demonstrate a publication record and academic reputation in their discipline that meets or exceeds tenure standards commensurate with rank, and must be effective teachers at the undergraduate, MBA, and PhD levels. The position is expected to begin in January 2026 or later.
